Shadow of War is a brutal workout for the VII as far as temps go. I need around 1.043v to get my card stable but the junction temps in this game slowly rise to 110c and stay there, other games run about 10c lower. This is at 4K but is it even safe to run at 110c for extended periods like that? :/

For me it used be like this escpecially in games like Far Cry new Dawn and Metro Exodus. I was undervolting it to 1035mV @ 1802MHz.

I don't have the problems anymore. I have replaced the cooler with Water cooler from EKWB.
Now operating it at 1901MHz @1074mV.
It runs super stable with average clock in games above 1870MHz.
Maximum temperatures 45°C at GPU and 65°C at hotspot. :D
    Room temperature 24°C.

I measured recently average power consumption with 2hours of Division 2.
At 1901MHz @1074mV in this game power consumption of Radeon VII was around 250W.

When I get some time I would try to push the VII to higher clocks. I think there is still a good potential left.
I will be updating my 6 year old two radiators (XSPC EX120 and EX240). They have gone through many builds and look old and beaten :p and will now go into another PC.
My main PC will get two new EK PE120 and PE240.
In totall I will have then EK PE120+PE240+PE360.

I will report if any difference in temps will be observed.

IMhO It's too agrro on the GPU.
You'll loose some 1% & 0.1% (I mean spikes), better to give some more stable OC.
1200HBM2 is good tho, GPU at max of 2050MHz on LC with UV and no POW adjusting.

Hi All, Just picked up my RVII after switching back from Nvidia.

I have a weird problem with gaming at 1080p. The GPU clock sits mostly at 25Mhz... Has anyone else encountered this? The problem i have with this state is that the fans won't ramp accordingly as it thinks its in video/desktop mode. I read somewhere the default frequencies for gaming should be 800+

    Thanks and best!

Try to change WattMan into Custom then
    Use OverdriveN Tool for OC.
Check if this happend, Alt-Tab from Game -> Apply OC Profile, go back.
    Check in HWiNFO64 or ReLive.

    Note:
Read OP here & in Vega Thread -> Usefull stuff, You need to learn about Next-Gen ATI GPUs.
Then You will have no problems, just Gaming :p

Got a Radeon VII last week and am quite happy with the performance in 1440p. Although when I try out Sunset Overdrive I get these graphical issues concerning shadows and lightning in the game:

I got no graphical issues running Heaven and 3DMark benchmarks or some other games on stock settings. Played some Division 2 and I noticed that the white highlight when you snap to cover have a similar "blocky" look to it akin to the issues in the video above, although this is seen very briefly.

Anyone got any idea if I am looking at a driver issue or if anything is broken on the card itself?

The card itself is stable in the games I've played, no crashing, temps below 110C on the hotspots.
