FF has been faster then Waterfox and cyberfox for while, I mean those forks and most the other forks I know about are still on 56.xx and are esr there been alot changes to engine since, I would not say they mindblow changes where speed increase easy noticable, but the increase is there, but still FF days of being fastest browser is long gone. I stick with FF simply cause customizeablity. And I dont like how Edge/Chrome hand cookies/ and privacy issues and how it is not as easy to manage things as in FF.

Every time I tried to change I come right back to FF within a months time, maybe this changes since last time I tried.

It seems that since the disabling of the add-ons, videos don't autoplay anymore. When I open a video in a new tab (set not to switch to it immediately) and then visit the tab, the video does not autoplay. I have to click to play. How can I change this? Anything from about:config?

Thats a plus for me (and many others I presume). Always disabled autoplay whenever I could. Imagine listening to music at high volume and forgetting the volume up. Nothing worse than blaring loud audio to greet you when opening a web page with embedded media or a loud video. I think FF recently disabled autoplay by default as of 66.03 or .04.

Ha! I thought set to 1 would enable autoplay.

Firefox 67 demonstrates improved performance thanks to a number of changes such as:

    • Lowering priority of setTimeout during page load
    • Delayed component initialization until after start up
    • Painting sooner during page load but less often
    • Suspending unused tabs

The "block websites from automatically playing audio" feature breaks every livestream on the latest version 67.0.4 (x64) on Windows 10 (1809-17763.557).

I keep adding websites to my whitelist, but they always brake after a minute or switching from fullscreen. However once unchecked, everything works like a charm.

Also think this issue is old and has been in since the feature was introduced, just didn't notice it until now while watching YouTube now that the racing season has started.

Is this why I have to click play every time I open a YT video now?

Looks like WebRender rollout hit my browser and it's enabled by default.
