Fx 8320e user here also, It is an upgrade but minimum fps increase ive seen tests done with Ryzen 10 fps lead thats not a Major improvement if you ask me. Ive been waiting to upgrade for some time now but if anything id go with intel as they have the highest clock speeds which translates to more fps in games. My gaming time has gone done drastically maybe once a week if iam lucky. 9900k is good choice 8700k i7 9800k 9700k cant go wrong with any of those and 5ghz is more easily achived.
My friend is still using FX 8150 4ghz the first revision of crappy bulldozer chip. I must say its beating 2500k in everything except some heavy single threaded games. I imagine 8350 is even faster.
There should be upgrades in autumn for your CPU, GPU, Motherboard, RAM, and SSD for crucial speed-up. CPU => I recommend for Matisse(Ryzen 3xxx CPUs) Mobo => I recommend waiting for the <<X570/B550/A530>> which may bring PCIe 4.0 support. GPU => I recommend Navi to replace the Radeon 570(Polaris) and should have PCIe 4.0. RAM => I recommend going for 2x 16 Gigabyte with speeds at minimum being 2666 MHz for DDR4. SSD => I recommend going to 2 TB SSDs when hopefully by autumn we should see ~10 cents per gigabyte. (~$200 2TB SSDs) GET NVME, not SATA!
I had an FX8320 at 5ghz; I upgraded to an i7 6700k and the performance increase was ludicrous in all my games.
I have a 8370e 4.5ghz , at 4K no difference . At the time it was 1080p yes, but now I'm at 1440p. But CPU intensive games gave me bad performance as well. Playing CS:GO on 128 tick servers, 1 smoke and my FPS would dip to low 100s from high 300s.
Upgrade done, a bit early not Autumn. Check out my sig.
