Using a BenQ monitor if I use drivers other than those listed I get intermittent black screens when using Gsync.

What would be causing it to work fine on just those two driver versions?

Have used DDU between each driver install.

Probably the fact benq can't make decent gaming monitors.

Turn off, or set to Standard, any settings that would "improve" pixel timings to lower latency. On my Samsung I have Standard/Faster/Fastest, and had blanking issues until I set it to Standard.

Are you talking about response time? I had it set on fastest with samnsung c27f didnt notice any issues but got the monitor just recently so...

Yes, that is what I am talking about. If your panel can enable it, and there's no issue, then kudos for your monitor. Mine didn't like like it with GSync Compatible enabled.

417.75 drivers work with GSync enabled without issue and NVidias Pendulum demo runs all day. Any drivers after and seem to get issues as though they have changed something?

Not the cable either have tried the latest Club3D certified cable.

Blatant question - have you attempted using this monitor with another PC/GPU?

don't have another to try. But then why would it be fine on the old driver revisions?

As an idea - there can be some leftover on your OS from an older driver. However, you have mentioned that you use DDU, which is odd.

Can you link your BenQ model? I assume it's a FreeSync screen, hence it doesn't natively support Gsync functionality. So stuff like that may happen after all - it took Nvidia YEARS to fix Gsync stutter. So I wouldn't be surprised if the issue you are facing is on driver level instead of hardware one.

I had this problem exactly with BenQ EX3200R. It seems that older nvidia drivers are using LFC (doubling of frame rate) at 63-65 hz . Newer drivers are more aggressive and switch to LFC at exactly 48 hz as specified in monitor driver. My monitor did not like framerates at this threshold and did black screens at 50 or lower. I used CRU to modify freesync range from 48-144 to 57-144 and problem is solved. No more black screens.

    Cheers guys/gals.

    It's fixed now.

The monitor is 4K so only has a range for A-SYNC of 40-60.

Simply changed it to 41-60 in CRU and is fine now (tried at 45 first and worked back) No black screens. Tested with 'pendulum' demo for 30mins.

    Happy :D
