is there any reason i need wddm 2.6 or new build of windows 10? i still using 1803 and I will probably continue to use that build till my next clean install i do, I even told my uncle about the metered trick to keep windows from doing updates on home verisons. which great for him cause he hated the auto updates in first place cause of the issue they caused, which why he had notify before download or install set when he had pro verison.

I can't get this driver to install even when it is unpacked and I use Device Manager to try to install manually. It just says that I have the latest driver (v425.11, standard version, by the way, not DCH).

Windows Update shows nothing either despite updating Windows 10 v1903 to build 18362.30 earlier on this evening.

So just how do I install these drivers for my GTX 1080 Ti?

Yes it does! Seems like you're doing it wrong!

I'm not using DCH drivers, I have the standard v425.11 driver installed for my GTX 1080 Ti.

As per my post above, I am not seeing this driver being offered on Windows Update (and DDU confirms that Windows Device Installation settings are on Default). I am also unable to install them manually as I am told the latest driver is installed.

I observed very high system ram memory uasge (leak) with 430.00 during FIFA 19 gameplay on DX12. Normal usage of system ram was around 6gigs with 425.11 but with 430.00 was constantly growing from 6 till around 14,7 gigs than game crashed. Went back to 425.11 and problem is gone.
    I am using gtx1060

    BTW
I ran SKYDIVER test 3 times in row 1 and 2 graphics test scored the same and also CPU test was the same as usaual but combined was higher buy arround 150point compared to 425.11 on avarage.
Similar was Firestrike but combined gained around 50 points on 430.00

Odd. I've read on other forums that the latest hotfix driver needs to be uninstalled. It seems that others have been successful after uninstalling everything and having Windows grab the driver automatically.

Yep can confirm, same happens here also Battlefield V it crashes after short time reproducible with 430.00 driver with RTX 2080Ti @ Driver-defaults , VSync off , Win10 v1903 (Build 18362) in BFV (DX12, 3840x2160 ,Ultra details) it consumes a lot of virtual memory with this release which results in application crash.

Thanks for the tip but, unfortunately, uninstalling v425.11 and rebooting still does allow this driver to install despite it reverting to the older v419.67.

Still cannot install manually (I already have the latest driver installed) and Windows Update whether on Slow, Fast or Release Preview still does download v430.00. Not sure why it cannot be installed on my PC as Windows 10 v1903 has otherwise been working flawlessly without any serious issues since I installed it a week or so back. Most odd.

While a 10%+ increase for you is nice, we need more details. What API? What custom game settings did you use? Any temperature or clock differences?

I mean, the CPU usage alone looks much better, but since you stepped up Windows 10 versions and about 50 driver versions I would hope performance would be better in a brand new game.

When I first got the black-on-exit problem with the Anthem open beta (before EA disabled DV for this game and it activated DV automatically) I reinstalled Andromeda (just to check this) and it looks like they behave the same way.
Sorry I won't be precise with the versions but it went somehow like this:
377.xx (the Adromeda Game Ready release) worked fine but DV was broken throughout the whole 380 series (if I recall the game simply failed to switch to either HDR10 or DV, there was no permanent black screen).
Then some late 39x release (may be 398.xx or 399.xx?) got it working again (along with HDR10 for games which use NVAPI for HDR10) until some 41x.xx broke it again (max be 416? I didn't follow, didn't play any EA games then - but HDR10 still works fine).
Then these 425-430 WDM 2.6 preview drivers changed from black-on-exit to launch-to-black (and stay that way until an OS reboot).

I have some 9 hours left of the Battelfield 1 Trial (and I guess some new episodes have a trial as well by now). Should I check how it behaves (the An* games both come from the Bioware department...)?

Indirectly related to this driver but since you’re reading. ;) It’s an issue that pops up creating a custom (virtual) resolution higher than the native resolution, the problem is with windows 10 DWM taking over and introducing all sorts of issues, here’s a link to a post from someone on the geforce.com forum who explains it pretty good: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-drivers/nvidia-custom-resolution-v-sync-bug/

Maybe this is something that can be looked at in the future?
