Just a word of warning for anyone else still using Windows 7, kb4493132 adds notifications of the end of support period, avoid it like the plague.

    KB4493132 just got re-released Tuesday March 26.
    https://borncity.com/win/2019/03/27/windows-7-update-kb4493132-re-released-03-26-2019/

fortunately, KB4493132 does not show up on Windows Update when running Enterprise or Pro edition of Win7. that update is only being offered to Win7 users running Home or Ultimate editions.

avoiding it like the plague is not gona stop the end of support for windows 7, it will stop the nagging though. but that is there for reason to warn people still on it

You people here are either unemployed, or won the lottery, or do not know how the world works. You would never want a 10 year product to continue living for another 10 years.

Drives a 20 year old truck with 220K on it...

FYI, most are not bucking moving to a new product just don't want to move to a product they have zero control of and is not very reliable. I've had Windows 7 installed on my home system since 2011 with few to no issues. My Windows 10 system running on my Laptop has given me nothing but problems including loss of BT Audio after the Spring Creators Update 1803 for which Microsoft is aware of that issue.

I do Computer repair for a living and see an uptick of work around the Spring/Fall Creators forced updates. I've also seen issues come through I've never seen before with previous OS's. So from a Business perspective keep doing what your doing Microsoft, my bank accounts thanks you.

If Microsoft focused on making Win10 more stable versus shoving more bloat into it they would see more people adopting it. I have clients coming in looking for used systems with either Win7 or Win8 installed on them. Sadly I do have used systems but with Win10 pre-installed and they turn their nose up to them.

I'm gonna re-iterate what I said before that those using Professional and Enterprise editions of Windows 7 WILL NOT be getting the notifications from the KB4493132 update.

Oh yeah if you work in the computer field win10 constant issue have been boon to those people income, not so much there sanity imo

I like win 10 but I like win 7 more it didnt break with the littlest of changes and Updates tended to a whole lot less damage then win 10 CU and build have been doing as late.

zero issue with controling when and if updates was downloaded reguardless of it being home/pro cause last I check you could set home and pro on win7 to notify before download and update less I remebering wrong

just let this topic die already, people. no need to bring it back after several months

I don't get any warnings & no notifications with kb4493132 since I'm running win7 pro on some of my old machines (only win7 home & win7 ultimate versions will get them)

and on a few of the other pcs I have that are running win10, I always use either Wumgr from github or WUMT (windows update minitool) to control updates for w10

    Win10 is the second ME.
When the Win7 support is gone it is time to switch to *unix.
