    Hi,

    I have:
    6700K @ 4.5 Ghz
    Asus PG348Q 3440x1440@100Hz

Will this processor limit 2080 Ti in this resolution? I read a lot of conflicting opinions but usually it was guessing - maybe some of you have such a set in this resolution?

At that resolution not so much.

I'm waiting for the Ryzen 3700X and whatever Intel releases around that time. Until then I'm fine.

Answer is yes. It will limit 2080 Ti in some games.
If you have any game where it would limit fps today, that's another question. But in near future there will be more of them.

On other hand, if you target 100fps maximum and no more. Then there is no current game where your CPU would prevent 2080 Ti from reaching such fps. And it is likely that your CPU will be able to request those 100 frames per second form GPU even in near future.

If you ask for purpose of making best decision in between upgrading CPU or GPU, then upgrade GPU.

I would not consider this to be a major bottleneck.

unless you have $600 burning a hole in your pocket for a new motherboard + cpu, i'd hold off, The improvement observed will be minimal(on average).

I wondered for a moment about this option but there were rumors about new consoles that say 8c/16t will be the new standard for games. I decided that it makes no sense to buy 8700k just to buy a new platform again in two years and the purchase of 9900k is extremely expensive today.
I realize that rumors may turn out to be untrue, and if even 8c/16t cpu appear in consoles, then developers can only take full advantage of that in a few years.
For now I put off replacing gpu and I am waiting for AMD Ryzen 3000 and what will Intel show in the matter of 7nm.

Wait until you have a problem before getting anything new.
