Thx for the heads up !

Okay, so these 2070's hit around the same 2000+ MHz core as the GTX 10 cards right?

Does it really matter if the 2070 cards comes with only one 8 pin instead of another 6pin, would it matter the oc core clocks at all, anybody know?

I'm waiting to see if RT really catches on. If it doesn't Nvidia might be screwed if AMD can release some true high end cards

So with RTX cards or rather Turing they now have binned die.

TU106-400A-A1 = Binned Chip (Factory OC)
    TU106-400-A1 = Normal Chip (Stock)

If the card has anything OC on it, it means it has been factory overclocked and will most likely come with a 400A chip, while regular/stock cards will have 400. So an example would be:
    2070 Ventus = 400
    2070 Ventus OC = 400A

They both can manually overclock as in you can overclock them yourself above stock clocks.

    So overclock YMMV.

You may have a harder time getting to 2GHz on a non-A chip while an A chip can get 2GHz+.

The PCB can also have a higher board limit depend on the model.

    For Example:
    MSI Armor (400) = +14% = 200W
    MSI Armor OC (400A) = +14% = 210W
    MSI Gaming Z (400A) = +11% = 250W
    nVIDIA FE (400A) = +16% = 215W

So higher models/custom PCB can have a higher TDP.

    This will also determine price:
    MSI 2070 Ventus (400) = $499
    MSI 2070 Gaming Z (400A) = $599

As for a normal 2070 it should be fine with just 1x 8pin, the ones with 8+6 will most likely need more power.

These are just the things to look out for.

    Hy guys,

In the last weeks, I found that if I press and hold down the Reset button on my PC case, the GPU fans of my Gainward RTX 2070 will spin up to 100% and they keep spinning as long as I keep the button pressed. In my opinion, this behavior is not normal to me.

Beside this, yesterday I just found out that one of the two fans on my GPU is dead, is not spinning anymore, no matter what I do...I tried to manually raise the speed using MSI Afterburner, EVGA Precision X1, I put some load on GPU to increase the temperature but the fan still not spinning...So now, I have to repair it on warranty, and this card is just one month old...
I'm so disappointed about Gainward and this GPU...

Hi! I own MSI RTX 2070 Armor nonOC. And on techpowerup i found this bios:

    https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/204764/gigabyte-rtx2070-8192-180918

It's for non A chip (TU106-400-A1) and has max power limit 240w. And it's work on my msi card, but with that bios, i loose control over one fan :/. It's always spin and don't want turn off during idle. But on this i can go with more voltage and don't hit power limit.

Maybe someone smarter than I, has access to other bioses for non A chip with higher power limit? Or have solution for second fan on MSI card? (problem i belive is from that, Gigabyte card has only one fan conector, and MSI has 2 fans conectors).

On stock bios i can go on my GPU: 1950-1965 Mhz (max 1980Mhz)@0,931V. More voltage giving me power wall in time spy benchmark (it's hit 200w power draw)

I flashed the Gigabyte bios with the 280W(?) Power limit onto my Duke OC yesterday and saw worse performance. I may consider going back to this at a later time but I was really confused that a 75W higher TDP (and I was using that extra 75W) was giving me worse scores in Time Spy. When I did all of that I found that despite only having 1 fan controller (and my card having 2) all fans were spinning normally.

When overclocking it wont matter at all. The extra two pins on an 8 pin are just grounds. They simply tell the PSU that the 8 pin can/should be able to handle more watts (150 vs 75). But overclocking can easily exceed those ratings to the point that they are the same. And with GPU Boost, this point is nullified even further.

Guys please don't flash different BIOS freely from different models. They may have a different PCB and you may lose functionality for things like fan controls or display ports. Maybe later on they'll have an editor. Unless it uses reference design/stock PCB and you know for a fact that the BIOS is just holding it back then go for it! Otherwise you're just taking a blind risk.

You guys are lucky to have those 2070's. I would be happy just to have anything better than my current 8800gts as money is tight for me right now.

Hello, how can I check what type of memory does my GPU has? Thanks!

Run GPU-Z and it will tell you the memory modules you have on your GPU. It will be under "Memory Type" in GPU-Z.

Newest Beta of AB allows higher than +1000 memory overclocks (for Turing):

Just wanted to say that My Geforce Windforce 2070 RTX Runs just fine.
    Fortnite in 1440p = arround 110fps
    BattleField V in 1440p high + RT on low = arround 60fps
Rocket League in 1440p max = 144FPS steady
No crashes or whatsoever so far.
