<looks up from quake 3> "What?!?! People buy games?!?! <goes back to playing and swearing after every death or frag>
Honestly Just Cause 3 seemed so dull I didn't even pirate it to try it to see if I'd like to buy it. Is this one much better?
Most people only download Hacked games that they were not going to buy anyway. Some test them out, just to see what they are like, Many games don't have demo's anymore either. I've downloaded a few and deleted them knowing I was correct in not buying the game.
sadly pc games get very few demos these days, most time it in the form of a "kickstart" thing where you donatiing to beta test the game for them. I see way more demo for games on consoles these days then on PC. so yah alot people download hacked games cause they were gona buy in first place, a few do it demo the game to see if they like it then buy it. DRM only harm the person that actual buy the games, the one that dont buy dont care about DRM cause they will get hacked with out the DRM, then there is the people that wont buy the game cause of DRM crap in first place. DRM has never worked and has never effect anyone but person buying the games. doubling and tripling down on DRM like some publishers are doing does not do anything but effect the games performance in some way. Atlest some publishers REMOVE the DRM after its been hacked, which i think more so do, I think they should just stop the DRM race though as it dont work.
Really good games like TW3 don't need DRM to sell well but it could be useful for some publishers when it stops the hacking of a GOOD AAA+ game during the first few weeks/months where the major part of the sales occur like Monster Hunter World that was hacked after 115 days. In this case ppl willing (because it's good...) to play the game MUST buy it. If hackers beat the DRM after a few days, hours or even minutes it harms legit customers experience (normally forever), provide good material for memes and gifs and even harm sales.
If there's a hacked working game online then I won't buy the game. I always look first and try it out and only buy it if I really want it and it's a last resort and it's not sold used on Ebay or something. Not everyone share's your high moral standards for deleting a good game because it's hacked and buying it.
It's actually easier to pirate them. I had to pirate gears of war 4 despite owning a legit copy because I could get it in a matter of hours where windows store would take days. Pretty pathetic.
I bought Forza 4 and it doesn't work. It just refuses to start. Reinstalled windows, nothing. Got pirated version - doesn't work either. Sure, the fault is somewhere in my system, but everything else works. So who cares.
