Ah, famous RS5...
If you have valuable data on PC and you do not back it up then it doesn't matter on what version of OS you stay - you do risk to lose it.

 

issue only affected peple which redirected the locations of their documents/music/picture folders without choosing to move the existing data.

 

Anyone notice some occasional sound crackle e.g. steam popup message, it goes away if it's frequent.
I started hearing this with RS4, reinstalled audio driver, also lowered sampling rate back to 48KHz (I always used 96KHz), but it still does it if it's out of focus for a while.

I think it went away after a update or two, but now it's back.

 

I'm way back on 1709 (16299.492) and I started noticing this about a week ago as well. Clean 1709, no upgrades to it or down from the 180x builds back down. It happens over HDMI to my TV and through Optical out to my 5.1 sound system.

 

I see, I was 100% sure I never heard that @ RS3.. hmm, maybe it's even Steam compatibility issue then?

Ooh, nice catch! That may be it, since I've had all kinds of issues with steam since their "performance is WAY better on Windows" ~Nov 8th update.

just a heads up, the latest CU breaks the ability to upgrade install to 1809, as well as driver updates.

How hard can it be to restore filetype associations?

The answer is "very", it seems...

 

Well it's late November ... hopefully we see something by Tuesday (27th). I first saw this bug in 17763.0 (but not in an older RS5 build) and that's from two months ago. I guess that's one way to get people to use those apps.

 

Does anyone else also get this issue? I have an Android phone and when I copy to or from the phone, the file transfer window does not appear. So I cannot see the progress but the files transfer successfully. It only happens on my PC. I am suspecting it could be because of the ADB drivers.

For a moment I thought that was the only fix and still needed a CU...

 

Whew, the finally fixed the association bug, .441 working good here. Now there's just that windows media player seek bug, but i personally can live with that as i use other media player for everything.
