huh, nvm, i have to be thinking of some entirely different game that prevented physx without a dedicated card.

 

so i cleaned up things with nvslimmer
used DDU to remove the 416.64
did clean install and it worked ok

 

Had a system freeze approx. 5 minutes into Watch Dogs 2, baffled as to what it could be because for about a week or more of using 411.82 Tesla for benchmarks and gaming, system was crash free no issues at all.

Only thing left for me to try was switching the GPU to MSI Mode explicitly using mbk1969's utility v2.
Which is what it should be going off of the number for the 1070 being -7.

That seems to have done the trick so far, completed my usual 5-10 hr (in game) runs without issue.
I see the Witcher 3 dsr issue fixed so going to try that and Shadow Warrior 2 later.

Good performance so far, I'll complain again if issues arise ....WIN10 x64 1809 17763.55.

 

How does this driver compare to 399.24 ? 1080 ti here, not sure if driver is gimped

 

keep going on about gimping and the local mafia dons will come have a chat with you.

399.24 is gimped too. 160.32 is the only good driver.

 

Gimped? Whatever.
However, running 140 extra on the gpu with 411.70 driver became impossible on these 416.81.
so I had to rearrange my clock settings to get about the same 3dmark scores. A little more on the memory, which my card luckily can handle atm.

So, thinking about my amd cards, which also required lower clocks with newer drivers, but did gave better benchmark scores and overall performance, and this, which forces me to use lower clocks, but doesn't give me better scores and overall performance.

 

Speaking about gimping, my 980 scores higher in benchmarks through the years, 1080 and 10080ti score same if not slightly better.
Currently with this driver I get the same score as when I was overclocking the vram to +500, and that is on completely stock clocks

 

These have fixed my Windows 10 freezing WDDM 2.5 issue thank fully so im happy!!

 

My monitor dont wake up from sleep anymore ive installed the driver after a DDU clean up anyone have this issue or any ideas how to fix it ?

Installed, tried Quake Champions @ DSR, and in main menu opened that chest checked headgear and when I pressed to apply game froze and buzzed sound and restarted PC (bugcheck 0x124 bsod).. great!


EDIT: I had balanced power plan in windows, changed to high perf. and it was ok after reboot. But now after 2nd match it CTD again.
So fck this sh!t. I go back to 399.24.

 

You run your card in MSI Mode? That fixed my freezing issue..I use DSR x4 for all games that'll allow it.

Had another run at Watch Dogs 2 and it definitely looks like setting MSI Mode fixed it.Also it seems Corsair Link running in background is causing some slowdown as well.
Wasn't noticeable before but with these it's very easy to see in heavy areas with rain, street lights.Really good improvement there.

Won't have to deal with Link software anymore soon, XSPC ION 240 kit inbound.

I see Im sharing irq with xfi both 16.. now GPU is -5.

Nope., trash crash to desktop again. Will go back to 399.24 until further notice.

 

Well, just had a GTA5 crash, first time ever on this card. Weird cause i played yesterday for like 5 or so hours with this driver, no problem, tonight i load up for 5 minutes and kaboom!

Rolling back to 399.24 and see how it goes.

 

Alright, looks like I'm staying on 399.24 for now. It seems that nvidia has really outdone themselves with the 400 series thus far.
