Corsair to sell pre-built Vengeance 5180 gaming-PC with RTX 2080 / 8700 for $2400

I mean, I honestly didn't check prices, but that rig seems a little expensive to me, considering it's got "only" a 2080 (which makes up for a third of the price, admitted), and "only" a B360 mainboard. Might have gotten the wrong impression, but $2400 without taxes is a pretty hefty price tag for a prebuilt system.

At least you can easily use the RGB LED setup since it's all from Corsair

 

Nice setup if you have the money to spare, and don't want to research and aim at pre-built stuff.

 

Since Christmas is arriving, this would be a perfect lit tree

 

It doesn't have even the latest gen CPU. You'd think 2400 dollars would get you at least that.

 

The CPU is an 8700 NON-K version, so it doesn't need the z chipset 'cause it's not intended for overclock, like the ram and the rest of the system.
It's something like an "OVERCLOCKED GAMING RIG FAC SIMILE", btw it can be a good choose for a lot of people that are not capable o build a rig and doesn't really need or want oc, but just a nice looking fast enough pc.

 

the crystal 280 case is fantastic (i have one), but as several people have pointed out (due to Intel) there's a late model cpu and a B series board.

if my magic wand worked, i'd plop an I-7 9700, and a gtx 2070 and put the difference in cash to a Z series mobo.

one thing about this case...amazing thermals for a case with glass on three sides. and space (with a single card) for a radiator on the bottom, top, and front. and if you don't care for the rgb you can save the price of the controller by buying this case w/o rgb.

Well at least this one has the advantage of being very easy to upgrade, the small form factor build they did last year looked rather nasty when it came to upgrade time.

 

This is a noobs dream. Many are intimidated by system building so Corsair is simply accommodating them.

 

I remember back in the day, he only thing intimidating was mounting the CPU (those pins!), but really, is it so hard to build a PC rig?
I mean I get it, and it's a valid point @ @Ziggymac / @alanm , I honestly forget most of the time.
But these days there's youtube videos of EVERYTHING you can watch on your smartphone, people you can ask easily via your phone... it's not like it's hard to see what this is about, basically. Do prebuilts really sell that well these days?

 

Yes true, easy instructions everywhere, but still most wouldnt bother. Fact remains vast majority of PC systems are pre-built. Not talking about high-end gaming systems like Alienware, but the garden variety HP, Dell, etc that make up most pre-builts sold.
