Some people are hardwired to catchy nicknames and slogans, or else they're unable to comprehend any of it. Sadly, nothing but a highly intrusive (and unethical, I guess) manipulation of the gene pool is going to improve that.

Well at least it's clear cut:

    - GFE = DCH
    - manual = standard

Out of interest is the DCH / MS Store provided control panel different from standard or the exact same control panel?

Didn't fix WoW BfA random BSoD's when exiting game. Using DX12 and a Asus RTX2080. Same rig has ran crash free for a year with a Asus GTX 1080

I posted this in gta5 thread, but I think more will see it here..

    GTA5 online
I seem to have a big cpu bottleneck, did they do something to gfx engine? Or how do I fix this, last time I played i think i got always over 100fps (at least in the city), now I'm limited a lot, with 60-70% gpu usage.. and 70-90fps

I alt+tab'd few times, to fix that triplebuffer glitch, but it still ran much slower then last time playing it, idk 2-3months ago.

OR maybe it's even spectre fault?
I enabled it again few days ago, last time I played gta5 I didn't have it installed yet, I think.

true, but some games have like IPC bottleneck, e.g. The Evil within2 with dx api bottleneck.

I did some testing and disabled fastsync and it helped a bit, but still not it.
extra DSR 2880x1620, had 1440p before.

Then I changed shadow detail from high to very high and also enabled shadow distance to max and got internal rtss 120fps limit back.. weird.
Outside it's doing some strange stuff too, extended distance scaling seems to be more demanding now, I had that at max before and it ran great, now I have to lower 6 from 10? to get gpu limit back.

Example in garage with shadows at high

    shadows v.high detail

but still doing weird bottlenecks, a little better now..

Also 144HZ problems, if I change to 120HZ it starts to run faster, but then it loses fps again.

Maybe it's just this driver and you're getting lower GPU usage because of it?

Plus DSR seems to have issues for some, me included, so maybe doesn't work properly for you either.

seems to be the exact same panel, but i do worry for DCH users who will be screwed when their cards are EOL'd and the panel continues to update but hasn't got the supported drivers to run it.

    Assuming Gsync?

    No.

Yeah, was about to add last time I played I was still on some 39x.xx driver.

Think I will go back to that, 41x.xx in general seems to be crap.

    I'd go too if I could :)

Update: DSR crashes seem to be exclusive to Far Cry 5 and Witcher 3, in other words the exact games with flickering issue fixes in this driver.

Just tried DS:Remastered @ 4K and it started and ran normally, no problems.

Please do, i also seemed to have noticed at some point, things got a lot slower with the setting "extended scaling distance", i just can't remember exactly when but i feel like something definitely changed for the worse with that setting. Right now i just have it set to about 30%, and everything stays smooth (at 100 it's a stutterfest). Right now im on this driver (416.64) and really i can't tell any differences from when i was on 398.xx (yes it did it on that one too if i recall correctly).

Haven't tried 399.24 yet. Weird thing is, a while ago, when i had a 1050ti, i seem to remember being able to turn that setting up to 100 and not have a problem. But then again, maybe other settings cranked up have a sort of, multiple effect or something.

I also recall reading somewhere once, that that particular setting in GTA5 really hammers the cpu the higher it goes. I don't remember where i saw it, if i find it ill put it up.
