Fathers around the globe please come with suggestions . Pls delete post if this is not accepted .
I bet you will improve the chances to get advices if you specify details like your location, occupation. Prepare to quit gaming. After the birth usually parents have no strength/stamina to do anything but sleeping at any occasion.
Let's see. I am a land and quantity surveyor living in Romania. My only hobby is Tech / IT and computers but I Guess from now Will be dipers and baby milk .
And to sleep anywhere. I remember I was able to sleep in subway and buses (either standing or sitting), at work of course. PS But that`s only for the first 8-12 months. After that you will get new hobby - to make house a safe place for your kid who started to move around on his own. (And to say goodbye to some of your possessions because many times you will be late to prevent...)
congratulations OP! ....you will love this child and it will definitely make you a stronger person! .... au contraire my friend....I am currently enjoying my stack of old games that are free! But yea! ...newborns are time consuming!
I understand that a car will always require money and investment but it's a necessity . As for proofing the house . I will start as soon as the baby comes to make sure all it's in place when he will start running around. Gaming ... damm ... I am going to miss it . Maybe half an hour a day I can still game
Not a dad yet, so can't give you any advise on it. I just hope your wife will give a birth to a healthy baby and wish you all health and solid mental stability. As for cigarettes, those are bad habit in my experience, I myself smoked a lot, cause my previous work was really stressful. Had to move away from city, got work where people are more mature and never have a need for a smoke anymore. I think it's better for your family to quit smoking. Find a reason why you smoke. Is work or family stressing you? Is there anything else? If there no reason for smoking, carry water bottle with you. Just have a drink whenever you feel frustrated or need for a smoke. Easy does it. Take care.
I don't know , work it's stressing sometimes . But normally I just crave a cigar . I just smoked ... and I need another . It's like a habit . I have to smoke all time ! I know that it's a bad habit and not healthy at all ... just can't quit it . If I have 2 cigars I have to go to the store to get another pack . Also financially ... I made a sum and it's around 2500 - 3000 Euro a year. that's a lot of money I could be spending somewhere else.
I have quit smoking very easy. And I was amazed when my nose and tongue started to feel in full range again.
