Refresh rate used to do that to me iirc, had to set the TV to 59Hz to stop it

Happens when you have different bit depth on two screens here. I have my monitor on 10 bits while TV is at 8. If I set them both to 8 the flickering stops.

How do I do that please? Thanks.

Also is setting my monitor to 8 bit make it any worst in quality ?

What if you set the same 60 Hz refresh on both?

Report to NVIDIA then, it's probably not your hardware if it's only happening with the 400.xx series drivers

Happened to me all the time as I remember, not only with 4XX drivers. Previous ones too. I have TV connected via HDMI and monitor via DP. If someone turns on TV my main monitor blinks and even kicks me out of the D3D game - I need alt-tab a couple of times to get back. That's so annoying. Both screens have different resolutions and different refresh rates. Maybe this is the culprit. And yes, ancient video cards as maybe gf 7xxx haven't suffered this.

If the TV does a complete power down to the point where it does not register as connected in the resolution configuration, then upon turning it on it will blink all active screens when it comes online.

It is some part Windows, and some part video driver interaction, since there are limits in place for peak pixel clocks with multiple screens.

Then why doesn't it blink when using Nvidia 399.xx drivers ?

Impossible to know and you could go on for weeks challenging every answer. I've stopped worrying about the brief lines during Windows boot when it switches resolution...because....it literally does not matter and varies per user for such mundane reasons as the display timing or native resolution. If this is just some cosmetic blink due to mode switching, I'd lose less sleep over it.

I have the EXACT same problem with the new 400.xx drivers. Never had it before. :/
