And the patches for Meltdown and Spectre can also have a small impact in overall performance when you compare with very old drivers.

Sure, but basically the only game in my tests which was affected by them is Far Cry Primal.

Meltdown not so much, but spectre can slow few CPU bound games, Hitman series and 3dmark physics, resident evil 5-6, and few more.

    ROTR not so much though

Just wanted to let people know that the pixelization issue and low performance issue I was experiencing in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey was down to having MFAA enabled globally in the NVIDIA profile. Setting MFAA to Off in the ACOdyssey.exe profile fixes it completely and the game now not only looks natively rendered at 2560x1440 but also runs at 53+ fps which fits with those benchmarks for the i7-4770K/GTX 1080 Ti that someone posted earlier. Previously, it looked like it was running at 1280x720 (despite being set to 2560x1440 in the game settings) and I was getting 32-36 fps on Very High Settings with CPU and GPU usage both under 65%.

What baffles me is how on earth NVIDIA released a game-ready driver without disabling this in the game profile! I mean considering MFAA is intended to be enabled globally then surely they should have picked up on this bug when testing the v411.70 WHQL driver. Really surprising they didn't and, to be honest, if I hadn't seen someone mention it over on the official AC Odyssey forum then I wouldn't have even thought to have disabled it.

Well, now that 1809 is officially out I wonder if we are going to get some new drivers today. For anyone who wants the official ISO for Win 10 x64 1809 it can be downloaded here.

Reset system OC which was a pain as I had to more or less tweak every setting in the bios.
Only this time I explicitly set cpu pll to 1.9v before raising any other voltages, clocks and now these are crash free in Watch Dogs 2.

It was the cpu as I could've easily forced the crash either by shooting the silence pistol repeatedly or hide behind something and pan the camera around so some textures would be up close with motion blur in effect, gave an instant freeze.

What a PITA that was, but I'm glad the rig can still keep up "knock on wood".

Regarding performance, these aren't the very best drivers but they work, gpu oc 2126 / 9104 @ 1.093v stable. :D:D:D

So next driver will be wddm 2.5. Intel already released that

What is pll? Which CPU do you have?

What about CPU sys agent (vccsa?)?

Cpu PLL voltage is like pool of sort the system sets for internal voltages of the cpu.At 100mhz base clock use, 1.9v is max allowed on air, whilst if I chose to oc using the base clock at say 125mhz, then this voltage can be lowered as the mobo is being oc'ed at that point.
VCCSA or IMC is at max safe for my chip at 1.2v, so I chose the safer route that I hadn't utilized yet, which was the PLL voltage.

Why should we wait for wddm 2.5? Does it provide best perfomance than previous one?

I'll give about 99.999% chance that you won't be able to notice any difference.

Quake Champions and my 980TI crash to desktop, it is 411.xx fault.

At first I thought it's RS5, but it's still happening by RS4.. Now I've returned to 399.24 and not a single crash or hickup for 45min+, I played 3 rounds of Deathmatch and 1 round Instagib,

I'm also forcing negative LOD -1.0 in nvinspector, if that might conflict with something by 411.xx.
Ingame AA is too blurry and this LOD method works just right.

how it looks , I'm DSR'ing 1620p and rest ultra.

if you are on a 9xx series and use custom timings or multi display, i would advise staying away from this driver. So many problems.

I've read about some issues regarding this driver and 144hz monitors on Reddit. Some users are being forced to use 120hz as they're being greeted with black screens upon reboot after install or when launching games.
Seems only some models are affected, an nv rep is trying to collect info, so they can investigate.
    Read that yesterday I believe.

I set my "original" hdtv (bedroom tv, circa 2006... still works fine so whatever) timings same as I have had recorded in the same text file for almost a decade, and with this driver I get total display corruption on both (my main also!) displays when I make a manual timing (on the secondary only), if I cant revert it is STUCK (as soon as I plug in the second display it corrupts BOTH displays, and freezes). It works if I unplug the old display, but I ended up uninstalling everything back to the Microsoft basic adapter, Driverstore delete, restarted so basic adapter stuck, and now im on 388.13 (or 398.13, whatever 3xx.13 it was). EDIT: Everything works 100 percent fine again I should add.

I have never had to change anything or reinstall cleanly, or do any of this crap for over a decade (minus the hardware upgrades) ever. I tried going through this twice with complete cleanups (and restarts when needed) in between.

Saw your screens on Steam. :D

btw. how do you play the game if your dire orb is on NUM1? .oO Are you playing num-block not WASD?
