Are you trolling or is your math really that bad? It is an avg of 29.7% faster in minimum fps among those games listed.

So on average he's only 800+% off!

    We got Newton here

Actually. I would say that 3,5% more means mathematically 1,035 times.
And 29,7% faster means mathematically 1,297 times. So he is off by mere 25,3%.

It it was particle concentration of 3,5% average vs. 29,7% average... you would be right. But 'more' / 'faster' implies addition of 1 multiplier + mentioned percentage.

Personally i would not care if these cards were giving you 100% over the 1080ti, i still would not touch these cards at those prices, not even if hell froze over. lol

Observed quantity = "how much faster (min. fps)"

    • Answer=30%
    • His answer=2-5% ~avg=3.5%

It's perfectly valid to say he was off by (30/3.5) ~ 8 times or 800% percent, or you can just as well say that the relative error he made is (30-3.5)/30 = 88%

The guy made a colossal error, by basically saying 2080Ti=1080Ti (+2-5%), and if your math is telling you that he's off by only 25%, then that's not a very good math.

No it is not. Being faster by 3,5% means that performance is multiplied by 1,035. Same goes for 30%.

It is like stating that when one is 0% faster and other is stating that it is1% faster... I hope you get absurdity of dividing by zero.
Or when you state that one is 1% slower and other claim 1% faster. It is 1,01 / 0,99... Tiny difference. In your broken look at it it would be missing target by 1% / -1% ...

    WHAT ISN'T?

    Don't answer.
If you think that colossal error such as his is worth only 25%, yes it is. In absolute terms, which is a sh1tty way to enumerate the error.
He's still 8 times off and he made a 88% error in relative terms.
I am done arguing basic, elementary, rudimentary statistics, absolute and relative error.

As expected. And the 2080 will be around 5-10% faster than the 1080ti, and the 2070 around 1080ti performance, maybe a touch slower. Not bad.

Unless something went horribly wrong, it is still 4th grade math for 10 years old kids, here.

Don't worry, tripping on someone's bad joke would likely result in headbutt before having chance to touch ground with face.
In the end, even your body is equipped with protective reflexes... And you would put hands between yourself and ground.

Am I the only one who's expecting the 2080 Ti to get only around 40% higher max FPS than the 1080 Ti in best case scenarios?

Why would you be the only one when every single rumor/leak/fake slide has shown that to be the case? :p

    Aside from like DLSS stuff.
