Hi guys just just built a new system and went freesync this this time,

    Asus Rx580
    Asus XG258Q

I play alot of csgo, So just wondering what are the optimal settings?

Should i use freesync + enhanced sync and leave fps at default in csgo witch is 300 or cap to 239?

    Or

Just use freesync and leave enhanced sync off and cap my FPS at 239 in game?

i'am a converter from the green team lol so a bit of a noob with the red team

    Thanks

IMO, cap to 239 and use Freesync only.
And use in-game limiter fps_max 240. Game will cap frames below 240.
From my testing it's best option.

On Default use ALT+R for Radeon Overlays in game. You can set frame-rate here, on/off Freesync, on/off Radeon Chill, use ReLive (AMD's ShadowPlay), change colour and contrast.

If you turn off Freesync while playing CS:GO propably you need restart game to Freesync works again, but it's not need to turn off it :p Im using Freesync everywhere.

    RTSS! Frametime graph.
Test following and pick best (most stable = flat):
    - RTSS limit 235/238/239fps (unlimited fps in game)
    - RTSS no limit + game limit 235/238/239/240fps

Combining 2 fps limiters may cause some unexpected situations.
Chill is connected to 2 additional settings in AMD's Radeon Settings. Min/Max FPS, it will try to keep power consumption in some low values. So, game will usually hover around Min fps value. I advice you to turn it OFF or set it to something high. :)

Im using Radeon Chill in non-FPP titles :p MOBA games and singleplayer RPG works well. In short. When nothing happen on screen, FPS will keep LOW as you set, if some happing on screen, fights, explosives, instant go to MAX.
Try ALT+R on desktop first. If it still doesn't show, it's bugged.
Some users report this in drivers section. I don't know they found fix or not

I mentioned about in-game limiter only for CS:GO. For other games, yeah, use RTSS.
I played many hours with Freesync in it and tried many ways.
Best was fps_max 144 + Freesync for me

RTSS is standalone, but should install with Afterburner at all.
Good to hear Overlay works for you. It's sometimes useful :)

For me works best FPS cap 3FPS below max refresh rate of screen (RTSS or ingame) and Vsync ON in games.

Ok so i have played around and with RTSS in game overlay i see a MS section and iam guessing i should try and change settings untill that gets to the lowest without much fluctuation ? If so i need Enhanced sync on + in game fps set to 999 and i get any where from 1.8 to 4 ms sometimes will spike to 6 8 etc

All other setting iam mostly around 4 and see jumps up to 9 and 10ms

Try capping from within CS:GO to 237FPS and enable V-Sync.

Use the console command "fps_max 237".

Don't dabble with triple buffering as it's redundant when combined with G-Sync / FreeSync and, depending on how it's implemented, might actually increase input latency for nothing.

Try tu set VSync in CCC to "ON unless app settings" and use only ingame VSync.
Anyway if I remember right, Force VSync from CCC works correctly only in OpenGL games...
Yeah, buffering is pointless with FreeSync and it just add latency.

Only thing in csgo that allows anytpe of vsync is Double buffering or triple buffering nothing else
