Well, so much for Intel releasing a mainstream 8-core CPU. $800+ USD is firmly HEDT territory and absolutely absurd any way you slice it (a 2700X can be had for less than half as much, and comes with a cooler). I hope for Intel's sake that these prices aren't real.

That webshop is a completely unreliably one. They often pull stock and prices out of their asses, just so they rank the highest in the pricewatch on tweakers.

So I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of that shop and their site.

If it wasn't for the pricing the 9900K should be a damn nice CPU.

    Note that we're talking about a company that used to charge $1700 for a 10-core CPU, and still charges $1799 for a 16-core one. $800 for a 8-core CPU isn't that far-fetched. ;)

I think I'll ignore Intel for a couple of years, they're off their rockers

I love how everyone is bashing intel about these prices because a random e-shop set them up. There are tons of overpriced random e-shops out there.

I think it's more of a case of hoping they're not true (or even close to being the correct price), for a lot of people anyway.

Already found one with a price tag of 430EUR for the i7. I bet that they are going to be under 400 when they launch or at least a month later.

So this means i can buy a 9900K and a RTX2080Ti for just a little more than 2.000€!!! Time to empty the bank account...

2700X is £299... Why would I pay 3 x the price for 1.25 x the performance? DOES NOT COMPUTE

They? You mean that "Central Point" source? They are absolutely serious - fake clickbait to bring attention to their site.

Totally agree with that, if all goes well and AMD offer good value with next year Zen 2. I will definitely move over.

um they droping hyper threading on i7? please dont tell me they doing something stupid like making i9 exclusive now

if intel is gona pull that crap with those pricing I will get amd next go around seeing they have just as much cores and more thread for less, I dont thin STP is very important anymore, as such I think this is last pc I make that I priorities STP over all others, and that was mostly cause I play the crap out swtor which only cared about 1 thing STP, which no longer play. starting to think the 5820k would been the better choice, then again I really would of need to oc that to be atlset acceptable stp

Nvidia can do this type of sh!t because they have no competitors, Intel on the other hand is continuing it's rather absurd behaviour of pretending it has no competitors when it quite clearly does.

Sooner or later this is going to catch up with Intel.
