Doesn't HDR need 1000 nits to work properly?

 

Something missing from every HDR display advertisement.
That's the fact you will have a heap of heat saturating your face as you sit within 16" of the screen.
Its gets mighty hot and uncomfortable in front of a HDR screen and the curved screens just lens the effect.
Something to keep in mind before you purchase one. expect to sweat.

In fact i think reviewing heat generated from 16" away from middle of screen should be a factor and measured.

1000 nits be fine for a tv but for a monitor 600 is plenty.
600 is blinding that will make you squint because its just over the top bright.

1000 nits in my opinion is only good for a tv where you will be 4 to 6 feet away.

Huh, never was aware of that, but it makes sense since they have a lot more going on in terms of lighting. Thanks for mentioning it though, I too would never have thought about such a thing before buying a monitor.

I thought FS2 was HDR600 now.

 

Still don't get why people would consider buying anything that has above 1ms response time.

 

It is quite normal, but I think it is still much more comfortable than just walking by large industrial NEC Plasma or any other.

 

Well a 32" VA 1ms 144 hz WQHD 16.9 curved 1800R with HDR quantum dot display with 600 peak nit brightness with freesync 2 10 bit and a 92% rgb coverage running @ 78 watts.
I honestly cant see why anyone would bother with anything else at this price.

This is where its at now.
not this 4k because we a few generations away before we can 100 fps @ 4k in ultra settings.

Va is the best it has the best contrast ratio for gaming.
It isn't the fastest TN is for speed.
It isn't for colour accuracy neither thats IPS territory.
VA panel vertical alignment best all rounder.

 

Where is Amd Navi graphic card when we need it??

 

vega 64 runs WQHD with relative easy 2560x1440 Navi isnt in any way needed.
144hz gaming no problem here.

Gaming on a HDR monitor.

No joke trust me its something i found out after purchasing mine.
So keep it in mine before you jump.

 

I find that hard to believe when my ti @2100mhz is 40-50% faster than v64 and it's still way too slow for 144hz gaming in new titles.
But everyone has a different view of 'fine'

 

You mean you dont get why people buy anything other than TN?

 

40-50% faster in what dream was you in ?
more like 15% to 20% and in doom you are 10% slower.
