I currently have a 24" 1920x1200x60Mhz monitor that is showing its age. I have an AMD 580 8GB GPU. I have done a bit of looking around, and this seems to be the best 144MHz/Freesync/27" models around. Curved as well. My computer desk/hutch maxes out at 27.5" physical width for a monitor. Good choice at about $470? Or should I consider something else? SAMSUNG C27HG70 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824022583
When I've read the title I was going to suggest exactly this monitor. Imo its topshit right now, I ran a bit short of money and got 1080p c24fg73 variant, but this model you're looking at is a beast. Panel is great, Samsung's own light boost feature is great too, better then classic light boost. I say you won't be disappointed and go for it!
It seems a very decent choice but i would look at his big brother (if possible): https://www.newegg.com/global/pt/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824025164 Just be careful because i was also interested in this monitor and read some user reviews about it and they were not very positive... Apparently the quality of the monitor is not the expected of a Samsung product. I advice doing some digging about the monitor before pulling the trigger.
H83, I am pretty much limited to a 27" at this time. Seeing how the resolution is the same I would prefer the tighter dot pitch
I just hope Samsung doesn't use the same shitty capacitors they have in the past. I loved my Samsung for all barely 2 years it was working, but it died way too young. Looks like a beauty though, grats on the purchase.
Please do check that you are using the latest firmware for HDR as mentioned in my article: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/samsung-c32hg70-freesync-2-hdr-monitor-review,1.html
