You can run the chip without a cooler on it and it won't shutdown! It just throttle a lot, his idle temp is high because his ambient temp is high. You can't cool to below the rooms ambient temp without a method of exotic cooling.
Yes your right Matt26LFC. I think he should open is side door and see what happens to temps and what not.
If temps drop a lot with side door off your fan setup is screwed up. His ambient temps are in the 30s since outside it's 42 he's in India.
Oh thanks jbmcmillan, yes at that point he shouldn't use case fans if he leaves the door open. If he has proper intake and exhaust fans going he shouldn't open door. It all depends how his case is setup and placements and what not.
