So who's even left then to make this game? All the talent from those games are long gone. Metro is now 3 games in!
I hope this Unreal 4 engine can give us the same atmosphere, surprised they just didn't carry on with the X-Ray engine but I guess that's more work for them. Can't wait, but just think STALKER 2 will come out before Half life 3 lol Hope Painkiller 2 happens now too.
Did some reading about that guy… Perhaps I'll have to think again about buying that game if it some day is ready for a release.

Who's left? I don't know? And this is more about enthusiasm or love, not talent. You know when you work on something and everything stops. It's just you and whatever you work on. Oles Shishkovtsov, Aleksandr Maksimchuk, Andrew Prokhorov, these are founders of 4A Games and the key people behind Stalker. How important Oles Shishkovtsov is you can see in Nvidia book called GPU Gems 2. Here Oles talks about deferred shading in Stalker SoC. https://developer.nvidia.com/gpugems/GPUGems2/gpugems2_chapter09.html Back then in 2003/4, X-Ray was the most advanced engine
That's a false rumor. Although i'm not gonna discard it completely. I'm actually skeptical about this Stalker 2 announcement.
Hope it's not an online game. One of the great things about Stalker imo is having a harsh game with a environment that pulls you in, all whilst not having to deal with people for a change. And if they want it to become as great as the previous iterations, it will have to be well moddable. Mods have kept (and still do to some extent) this game alive for far longer then it would've lived without.
Devs have worked for GSC, but that's small part of the team. They call themselves Vostok Games. It's a small team without proper support.
@S.T.A.R.A.C. Still they make use of the same engine of Stalker.. X-Ray. Actually received a lot of improvements on the latest patch. Didn't tried out, but they even released a trailer for it showing the improvements in the graphics rendering and performance.
I really wish they would of held on to this announcement until they were well into development. Now I get to see-saw for the next three years on "Its finally happening" and "This crap isn't happening". I would have preferred, in 2021, out of the blue - "Oh hey, Stalker 2 is in development...and it's done. Here, go play."
