My specs are Windows 10 AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Processor RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 2 TB HDD & 512 GB SSD Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 580 500w My question is can i put a Nvidia 1080ti in there i seen somewhere you need 600w plus for 1080ti if that's the case how do i know what new psu to get. Is there anything else i need to know. I never put new parts in a pc before.
First off you need to get the exact model and brand of your PSU. If you are new to PCs and bought a prebuilt or a random PSU, likely it's not very good. 500w will be OK unless heavy OCing on a 1080Ti, but assuming you have a generic/bad PSU I'd recommend something like an EVGA G3 650W
Ok, you'll definitely want to get a new PSU. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNO...F8&qid=1524844628&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+650+g3
Why buy a pre built if your replacing the gpu? Just build a total unit save more and no bloatware from HP.
Thought HP omen desktop's were rated pretty highly though, many give you a rtx or 1080 card installed unless selecting the lower package's but as far as i was aware the psu stay's the same.
