Sometimes when i turn on the system it boots fine but the keyboard isn't available or lit up. when i unplug and plug it back in it comes straight on, or on a restart it comes on too. mouse works fine. tried diff usb ports. still same issue. any suggestions?
Happened with my old Razer / microsoft recluza keyboard. Never occurred with my new Logitech G413. So I think it may be a keyboard issue. My guess.
I have the exact same issue with my Corsair Scimitar mouse on a Maximus VIII Hero mobo. Probably 1 in 7 boots it will not power up the mouse unless I replug it or reboot. Its otherwise the perfect mouse so I put up with it. To aid quick replugging I fitted an extension with the join close to me so its easy to do. This might be a workable solution for you.
thanks, our boards are pretty similar, just wanted to see if it was a voltage issue with my oc or something, the hyperx fps mouse i have works fine on boot, just the keyboard doesnt light up or work till the replug, i mean its not a huge issue, but its something i was curious as the board was recently purchased. Tried enabling / disabling legacy and that mouse / keyboard simulator no joy either, id probably switch keyboards tbh. hate stuff not being "right".
Never had the issue myself but if it ever came up and I really liked the mouse or keyboard I'd do what Mufflore suggests. It's still one of those niggles that would annoy me no end.
Software issue. Sometimes when i boot up mouse does not show up(like 1 out of 10 times). Have to replug it in.
In my case it was not a software issue as it happened since windows 7 through 10 with different hardware. The issue begins @ bios boot. It is OS independent.
I had this issue myself when I was running AMD 8350 but it went away when I switched to Intel Z97 setup, I'm using a deathstalker as well, one work around I found was using a powered USB hub and plugging the keyboard into that. I tired all the Legacy USB bios settings as well, made no difference.
I mean it happens so rarely that It's hard to 'solve'. Not reproduce-able.. If i reboot and replug mouse it works. Could be some issue with UEFI/bios handoff for USB devices. Might try disabling/enabling EHCI/XHCI handoff and disabling legacy usb Lastly it could be an issue with ASMEDIA firmware, they are in most PCs, USB root hubs and extra USB 3.0/1 ports.
a different cheap keyboard worked fine on cold boot, so im putting it down to a razr issue. will replace the keyboard next week. its no big issue.
Will have a look, was thinking a corsair k70 with cherry MX red, felt nice in the shop. What's with the mouse bungee cord on the ducky?
It's just an extra little feature, you don't have to use it. The keyboard itself is amazing, not to mention the PBT keycaps that just feel so much better than the ABS keycaps that come with most keyboards. You can buy PBT caps for any keyboard but you're looking at like a £40 premium
enabled erp ready S4+5 and battery charging support, fixed the issue, either way my corsair k70 is here now anyway.
How are you liking it? I was thinking about getting the K70 myself but heard some not so nice things about their software, which I'm sure is improving slowly, and I wanted PBT keycaps so I went with Ducky Shine 6 and it's simplicity. I'm sure the K70 will serve you well though, it's a solid board.
very good so far, smooth keys, very comfortable. You dont really need the software unless you like colours going all over, without software running it defaults red rgb and white for wasd and arrow keys. thats fine for me, i did quite like the alternating colours with the link to far cry 5 though.
if ya have fast boot on,some motherboards do only initialise partial usb devices but ya can set it to full initialising which helped me. and what Agent said about legacy usb
