How to Enable OpenCL in lagecy driver 16.2.1 - 15.301.1901 updated 2017/09/20?

Hi Guys:

I want to try the new driver 15.301.1901 which is updated recently, but the problem that since the series15.300 and OpenCL is not active.

I checked, and the OpenCL client files have the same version, it was something like 2.0.4. Considering that both 15.200 och 15.300 have only OpenCL 2.0 which is not supported by my card which supports only 1.2. But it works in the 15.200, so there must be a way to enable it in the 15.300.

I tried few hacks (like replacing OpenCL files with 15.200's ones) and tweaks but nothing worked, but I am sure there are lots of experts here can fix it.

The old WHQL driver was updated on 2017/10/30 https://www2.ati.com/drivers/whql-win10-catalyst-15.7.1-oct30.exe

 

Don't look at date.
I just so compared actual build number of the first two dll that I could find, and they are still quite beyond those of the magic drivers of user1.

That driver didn't work for me, and even if it works it doesn't enable OpenCL as few reported

P.S. the driver was designed for old chipsets so I think it may have less functions.

 

What have I missed, replacing the OpenCL files from 16.2.1 with the old ones in 15.11.1 beta does enable OpenCL

you must also replace the VA libs , but honestly i would just stick with the catalyst 15.11.1 beta , it has better compatibility with most newer games since it is essentially the same driver as the one microsoft supplys via windows update for windows 10. and as such is more often targeted by developers. the performance difference is negligible in 98% of cases

 

Well I am using OpenCL 1800.12 from the driver 15.201.2901.1004 as 15.11 has the version 1800.11

Using ccc2_install from 16.101.2901.1003

Until now the combination seems to be stable

i try 16.2.1 drive in hd 6670 and it work fine with me in render in 3d apps but i can't open cl and when i try 15.11.1 it was sooo solw at render

With respect, if you need the last known working versions to me. I will upload it for all here. And if you have used DDU please install PCI and audio bus under system devices, I will also upload the last signed HDMI driver as well it is under sound.

I added the executable OpenCL files as they were copied in the old 1800 so it is better if you add them.

-Don't use the setup, just install the vga drivers from the device manager manually.

-Eextract and replace OpenCL 1800.12 Driver 15.201.3001.7z to %windir%
and you will keep your driver signed.

-Install ccc2_install 16.101.2901.1003.exe the last known version seems to be working without crashing.

If you don't know how to install the driver manually I will explain step by step.

Hope you can explain that method with video i think i will upgrade the card and changed it to nvidia i am already now hate all AMD CARDS hahahahhaha i think my card HD 6670 was good but there isn't any driver fix that issue and the last one was soooo bad 16.2.1
