MSI has just released BIOS updates concerning security vulnerabilities. Mine just jot updated on the product page. See picture below:
Just got computer beeps with my MSI z270 Arsenal after KB4074588. After 3 long hours.... the problem was with fast boot...with "temp"BIOS released by MSI for Spectre and meltdown. When i went to my motherboards page : MSI Z270 ARSENAL, the latest BIOS as per the thread (7A68v15) HAS VANISHED (see above screenshot) from MSI support page: When downgraded to BIOS version 7A68v14 the problem has been resolved. BUT...... --------------------------------------------------------- To all MSI moboparents
Yah, their 'new' BIOS still does not immunize against Spectre. By contrast, EVGA fixed this over a month ago on my X299. When people ask why it still hasn't been fixed on the MSI forums, there is never a straight answer. Their customer support is lousy and it is the main reason that I don't buy stuff from them anymore. My first X299 boards were MSI but they were both switched out the minute EVGA released the FTW (and then the X299 Dark).
UPDATES (more stable): https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z270-TOMAHAWK and IMPROVED USB COMPATIBILITY NOTE: (The above link is for Z270 Tomahawk - MSI Motherboard only. Check your own motherboard's BIOS support page to download and upgrade)
Funny thing a month i ago i updated the BIOS of my ASUS Z270F to it´s latest version because of Spectre and Meltdown and my system became an highly unstable mess that would crash constantly for no reason... I had to revert to another BIOS to fix the problem so no security updates to me at least for now...
