Thank you for this! I only wish I'd seen it about 20 minutes ago :p

I imagine the Optimus folder would probably be a good idea to keep on Optimus setups?

Edit: I used DDU to remove the driver, stripped the driver package like the minimalist screenshot (and kept the Optimus folder), and everything looks fine still.

Incorrect. It installs a few things in the background that you can not select to not install in the install menu.

I always do a clean install. I never install a new driver over an old one.

Current Nvidia Driver without crap, like Espionage724 "free of crap" settings + with updater for profiles.. No mod required

Not always. On my rig NV installer installs only components selected in UI. No task scheduler entries, no system services except container one. It could be that installer takes into account some OS configuration(s) like my WiFi connection set as metered one.

PS It is possible to spy after installer with Procmon.exe (for example) to discover all its activities (registry, file and network ones), but it is very dull and huge work to do.

If it does take into account some network conditions, it's very limited. I did two different fresh installs of Windows 10 without an internet connection at any point before installing the NV driver. Only installed the NV driver, and I got 5+ telemetry-related services on startup, which are obviously useless without a connection :p

I'd love to, but unfortunately NVIDIA forces you to install much more than the driver :p

(I know what you meant; you're the ideal "customer" NVIDIA is hoping for with this bs and you probably shouldn't be in this thread)

Nice job, but the screenshot came from T_R_V actually; I just quoted it :p

It works just fine, on all recent drivers. I delete everything besides Display.Driver / NVI2 / PhysX folders.

Copy this and make a cmd script in a text-editor (save as "all files (*.*) )
Run it in the driver folder.

    Just a quick heads up.
    Code:
    rd /s /q NVWMI
NVWMI can be added to that list. It was added to the installer a few months ago. Use forum search for more information if you're interested.

There is a new DisplayDriverCrashAnalyzer folder in 391.0x drivers, can that be safely removed as well?
