That's probably just ReShade, though Flickr for images hosted via that does apply image compression and sharpening on it's own if you use any image size besides the native one. Really wish it could be disabled but there's no way to configure this behavior unfortunately.

EDIT: Only learned about that recently myself, found it interesting hearing comments on how e.g Battlefield 1 looked so sharp and then it turns out back then with the old forum code it was because I used the reduced 1600x900 sized image it got sharpened up. :D

Probably works better for some photos, less so for games so it'd be nice if it was at least configurable to some degree.
(Similarly BMP files uploaded without being converted will be auto converted to JPG with compression and sharpening so PNG or JPG conversion first using whatever settings you prefer works best to avoid that, Flickr isn't the only image host using it either.)

EDIT: Let's see if this works.

    1600x900
    [IMG]

    2560x1440 (Native)

Well somewhat, not as visible though.
(The chain on that light source is more noticeable but it's everywhere though a bit more subtle, varies from image to image and how sensitive the user is, personally I'm not too fond of artificial sharpening though it can offset blurriness caused by for example temporal aliasing so it has it's uses. :) )

    Oh and this also works:
    https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4566/24497985308_cd4687471e_o.jpg

And then the IMG tags around and it'll be used by this forum code to allow for resizing to fit the browser window. :)
(Flickr embeds all sorts of stuff in their own generated URL's, technically you're breaking the EULA pretty severely by modifying this but I prefer the image to be embedded without the extra bits so eh, it gets tossed out.)

    A few screenshots from Shamazaar:

This is an easter egg area for veteran players: it's hidden underneath Temple Fae in Shamazaar. This area wasn't in the original game.

Not a bad upgrade over the original voxel based Outcast, might have to pick it up at one point though the Kickstarter was initially planned to be more extensive with new content additions though it ultimately fell trough without meeting the target amount they had set if I remember that correctly.

Nice to see them still re-releasing the game now being almost fully remastered (Re-using sound files though.) in full 3D and running on I think it's the Unity engine?

Yes, Unity engine. From what I gather, it's a sort of graphical overlay on top of the original game, which is quite an interesting technical feat. No idea how that works, but I do know it feels very true to the original. Most of all, I'm happy the charm of the original game has been retained. I never felt that Outcast, especially in 1.1 release, was too outdated to play from time to time: a testament to how ahead of its time the game was upon release.

Star Ocean 4 PC ("HD" Game is a bit rough looking overall but it does run up to 3840x2160 if supported though the port has some issues with window management and timing being dependent on framerate.)
