Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

I've pre-purchased three games coming in October.
Evil Within 2, Wolf 2, and South Park. The other games coming out then (Destiny 2, Shadow of War...) will have to wait.

Also.... I'm still playing the new DisHonored, and a friend gifted me Cuphead. So, I'm gonna be busy.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the beta. But, I've gots no extra monies to spend on games.
Plus, my ten year anniversary is next week... and my wife and I are heading out of town for a week. So... more monies I don't have.

 

Damn, if you read the YouTube comments, the Alt Right is really getting triggered by this new trailer. Freaking hilarious!

 

Not sure where this new train of thinking came from. People getting upset because you kill Nazis in a game.
If there's one group that deserves to be killed... it's Nazis.

Been playing Brutal Wolfenstein in anticipation to this one. It's quite fun (Wolf3D with Brutal Doom gameplay).

 

I replayed Wolf:TOB and TNO a little back because of TNC coming out next month.
Also, downloaded a WAD called "WolfenDOOM: Blade of Agony" It's really cool... but REALLY hard.

 

Oh yeah forgot about Blade of Agony, saw a video of it a while back, gonna give it a spin too, looked like fun.

Also playing Brutal Doom Black Edition atm. Plus TOB, first playthrough, still...

Most likely he is talking about Wolfenstein 2. Doom had about 40% compute occupancy, so now Wolfenstein has upped the ante!

DOOM runs better for me at 4K and maxed out settings with OpenGL than it does Vulkan. Vulkan seems to have microstutter issues and a lower framerate whereas OpenGL is butter-smooth. This has persisted across numerous driver revisions of the Vulkan API to the extent that I was starting to wonder what all the fuss was about. Vulkan to be seemed like another failed promise just like DX12 vs. DX11 was.

 

are you sure ? Vulkan is miles better than OGL for me , 4k 120fps and higher sometimes

 

I'm with Darren on this. OpenGL simply delivers a smoother, better experience.

 

Same here, notably smoother experience with OGL.

Vulkan has lower sustained/average framerate (higher spikes though) and seems to introduce some persistent stuttering with Vsync. The image just isn't smooth even if frametimes are consistent.

 

OpenGL give me high FPS but Vulkan more better consistant framerate with vsync(60Hz) no stuttering on latest update. i remember when first update vulkan released its microstutter/framepacing issue with vsync enable

Tiago Sousa is confirmed Vulkan in this game , hopefully Wollfenstein TNC adding rendering mode setting option, "Gritty" mode is awesome

 

Complete other way around for me.
Vulkan definitely gives me higher frame rates, but... it doesn't feel smooth.

While OpenGL I can cap at 60fps and it runs silky smooth with no issues. Vulkan gives me stuttering, occasional hitches... and even when it says it's running at 60.... it just doesn't feel like it.

 

I had some jitter too, just wasnt as smooth as opengl @vsync. Didnt try Vulkan since then.

 

Launch trailer. This game has some sick particle effects! I guess that 80% compute occupancy is being used to great effect

 

Just ten more days until this wonderful game comes out, can't wait.
