Are the color issues fixed in fullscreen exclusive mode in some DX11 titles (e.g. Wargame Air Land Battle and Wargame Red Dragon)? I encountered them in all of the previous WDDM 2.3 drivers. Even the colors and brightness on the desktop were noticably different.

@ ManualG - Are you/NVIDIA aware of issues with Unity engine games on Windows 10 v1709 build 16299.15 (a.k.a. the Creators Fall Update due for official release on 17th October) and, I believe, WDDM 2.3? I use a 165 Hz G-SYNC 2560x1440 ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q monitor.

I first noticed weird behaviour in Road Redemption, which uses Unity, as I saw framerates going from 30 fps at the start to 85-110 fps then back to 30 fps constantly during a race, which completely ruined the experience. The only way I could guarantee a solid 60+ fps framerate with to use the Low preset... on a GTX 1080 Ti. I then discovered, completely by accident while adding a Framerate Limit of 165 fps via RTSS while the game was running, that Alt-Tabbing to the desktop and back fixed the framerate but on starting the next race the same 30-110-30 fps would reoccur until, I again, used Alt-Tab. I am currently forcing exclusive fullscreen mode for this game via the Steam launcher options (-window-mode exclusive) and this allows the game to run perfectly without the need to constantly use Alt-Tab.

Since then I have come across a number of other Unity games that have this same weird 30 fps bug, which incidentally is due to extremely low CPU and GPU usage: Orwell, Immortal Redneck and Kerbal Space Program, all run at 30 fps on my PC when tested with the v387.78 driver despite the fact these previous ran at 60+ fps on the previous version (v1703 build 15063.6xx) of Windows 10 with earlier drivers, including the officially released v385.69 WHQL driver. Not all Unity games are affected though; Ori and the Blind Forest, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, The Last Tinker: City of Colors all run at upwards of 165 fps on my system. I suspect the issue may be tied to a specific build or builds of Unity Engine (most of those games use DX9 I think).

Obviously, with the Creators Fall Update not being out yet then any issues with games are going to be few and far between but with Unity being a very popular engine for independent developers then it could become a widespread issue come the 17th (assuming this issue is not specific to my PC, which I do not believe it is since games using other engines all run perfectly as before).

    *EDIT*
The Unity engine/30 FPS bug I mentioned Here *seems* to have fixed itself over the last couple of days, coincidentally after I installed the newer v387.87 NVIDIA graphics from Windows Update (I was previously using v387.78). Since the v387.xx drivers have no release notes then it is impossible to say if it is due to the new driver or just some other peculiarity on my PC that somehow fixed itself.

ManuelG - Was this a known issue that was fixed in this driver or was it some oddity with my PC?

I can confirm that the files from the "NvCplSetupInt" Container like nvGameS.dll, nvGameSR.dll (Profile database) downloaded from holystarlight are labeld as 387.86. Can other Insider confirm this?

    @ManuelG Can you check this?

Okay, I've tried the new driver version provided by Cyris and can confirm that the previous color issues were not fixed (I am on Win 10 16299.15 now). [EDIT: I initially cheered too early, after a second restart they showed up again, ahrgs.]

By the way, I just saw Manuel's statement in the NVidia forums that there is a fix from Microsoft incoming for a different color issue, the color issues which I face occur in these games even when night light mode is disabled. @ManuelG could you confirm these color issues which I face? Is there a fix in the works? They should be very easy to reproduce (and are even noticable in the blue loading circle next to the mous pointer while loading applications on the desktop), just start the above mentioned games in fullscreen exclusive mode.

Not sure if its the game or SLI related but Overwatch refuses to open in exclusive full screen on these drivers with SLI enabled, it opens and instantly minimizes to the taskbar. windows mode for the game works but input lag is awful with gsync.

@ManuelG It's hard to describe because it's very erratic behavior. The browser and full screen issues seem to be related though. It almost behaves as a memory leak and take some time (hours) after a reboot to notice and will keep getting worse. After Windows installed these drivers, I re-ran the installer with the clean install option checked and then rebooted. I only have a few games installed at the moment (HDD failure), but I loaded up Diablo III (Windowed full screen mode) on one screen and used Edge to stream the crazy 5+ hour Indians vs Yankees game on the other screen (full screen). After a few hours, I noticed a drop in performance with Diablo and the game video would occasionally revert to un-full screen mode or crash. It would take a number of attempts to get the video to play in full screen mode again as it would occasionally flicker and fail. Completely closing Edge and reloading the page didn't help, nor did switching to Firefox. Once I rebooted and went back to the same setup, it was working great again.

Fast forward a couple more hours, the game ended and I stopped playing Diablo. No reboot. Then I went to Home Depot's web site and it was crashing. No videos or full screen anything. Both Edge and Firefox had the same issues. I then went to YouTube to watch some videos and they would crash the browser and/or fail to go into full screen mode. I loaded up the other game I have installed (Warframe). It took several times to launch the game and get it to load properly (full screen exclusive mode). It would either load a blank screen or load minimized and wouldn't restore. After a reboot, going to the same sites and loading up Warframe had no issues.

I've also seen similar behavior when not using a dual screen setup (TV via HDMI) watching videos, using MPC-HC/madVr or a browser.

The one test I should have done, but will hopefully be able to try out today, is disable hardware acceleration on the browsers when the issue happens and see if it makes an improvement. I also want to look at more memory values. All of this behavior started with the first driver using WDDM 2.3 and worked flawlessly with the 2.2 ones.

EDIT: Found some crashes for the Desktop Window Manager and Edge in the Event Log.

Yeah., only cuda 9.1 and nvcpl files are 878.87.

EDIT: I see others saw it too, its not a big deal though.. Would be worse if it registered my old r385 files, I used simple over-install update.

Could you please :) re-upload this "GpuTool" somewhere.. I remember I had it in one desktop folder, but guess it got deleted..

The black screen issue is also available with my old Titan Black in my sec. testing rig. After the driver installation the system runs without problems even after a reboot. However, the system is shut down and then turned on again you will only see the mouse pointer on the Windows Desktop the rest is black. So I had to delete the driver over an RDP Session. After removal of the HDAudio driver and subsequent reboot, Window was re-displayed correctly.

    Tested on Windows 10.0.15063.502

I came to the pc this morning to hear my 1080ti going at full pelt with its fans. Not sure what happened but a hard reboot stopped it. This is another 1st on these drivers.
