    seems like a good bye.

I would argue mine is a low end gaming laptop lol although mine cost abit more than that a good few years ago.

There are some lovely Ryzen / 580 laptops out there. I am waiting for Ryzen / Vega 56 laptops to come out, supposedly early 2018.

Might be a long time - getting decent mobile versions of those current guzzlers...

Got my Acer V15 Nitro with a Intel i7 4720HQ and a 960M card with 4GB and upgraded the HD to 2GB drive with 128M Cache a while back. Work fine I guess... able to run Fallout 4 and all... but close to 2 years old now so thinking of putting it on eBay around this Nov. for like $600ish and use the money to look for a replacement laptop with a 1060M card just to future proof my portable gaming for a few more years.

Vega 11 chips coming out soon. So not that long of a wait.

Vega has poor perf/w compared to pascal.

Even RX580 mobile is consuming way more power than 1060m, almost double.
Don't think they are going to work too well for battery life unless they undervolt/clock it a lot.
