Hi folks, I think my son's has gone wrong. Can anyone recommend a cheap simple mobo for i5 4690? It's for gaming but we don't need to overclock. Cheers
How cheap are we talking? if you want something very cheap, you're probably looking at used parts on ebay in the $60-80 range for those lower end H87/97 chipsets. Newer Z97 will put back at least 100 USD Something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Z97-Pr...040901&hash=item1c92cc601d:g:IrsAAOSw7eFZv2JK or http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-H97M-E...188098&hash=item3f86d4e809:g:0R4AAOSwXq5ZtDZk
Couple suggestions here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2457123/budget-motherboard-intel-4690k.html http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2940727/budget-motherboard-4690.html
Actually thinking way cheaper, like £50 or less. Like the msi h81m-p33 It's like the one that just broke and was fine for his needs. Is there anything else like that or maybe a bit more if worth it? Cheers
Also I can't seem to find those motherboards in UK, or only expensively. Like £150. I really don't want to spend more than £70. Thanks
Yep those are the kinda thing thing. So stuck with H81 and micros at that price? Fair enough. Was gonna go for the msi h81m p33. Does that sound OK for price? Thanks
Never owned one before, but you can get it slightly cheaper at Scan https://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi...iii-6gb-s-pcie-20-(x16)-d-sub-dvi-d-micro-atx
