Hi there I always use X pattern method on GPUs, on CPU I use rice method which seems working for me perfectly For TIM I would suggest use Kryonaut or Noctua NT-H1 Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Thin, I replaced the paste on an R9 290 and put a small pea sized amount in the middle, it was far too much, doesn't need much at all tbh, it's only to fill the impurities between the two metals, if they were 100% perfectly flat and smooth and fit together perfectly non of the paste would even stay on the surfaces once you screwed it up tight, it would all be forced out, it only remains because the two surfaces are not a perfect match with each other so you really don't need much at all
Hi there I usually use X pattern thin line, it works for me there, this I've done on my 3* GPUs waterblocks plus on friends builds as well and no issues Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
I always spread thinly with a razor blade. Some say don't do that as it creates bubbles; it won't, if you are precise in doing it. Always got the best temps that way.
Well its such a small area that needs covering i cant see as it make much difference, but i use i small blob as to rule out air pockets.
The same as agent, I've always spread it flat and fine. A little nail varnish remover and cotton bud (q-tip) for any over spread clean up. GPU dies are always that bit trickier though aren't they. I've probably done this 20-30 times now always with good results too.
