GPU Temps High

So recently I had to bake my R9 280 non X and all seems to be ok in most applications.

I played BF1 yesterday and was doing pretty good, then I noticed some flashing textures in the distance scenery and looked at afterburner OSD and my card was at 97c!! nothing else gets it above 70c

Should I re-do the paste on the chip and if so what is the best way to do it?

There isn't much you can do card is pretty much done bake that zit again..

 

High temps like that can cause artifacts.

For the average person, there is no best way to apply paste.

But yes, repaste it with something good like PK-3, gelid gc extreme, Grizzly kryonaut etc

 

This if you haven't already cleaned the cooler. Make sure you've got enough case airflow too.
