It's not only in India the retailer margins and taxes on PC hardware tend to be very high.
    Just check Portugal prices:
    Threadripper 1950X -> 1.189,90euros = 1,420 usd
    Threadripper 1920X -> 959,90euros = 1,145 usd
    almost 50% on taxes and margins, U N B E L I E V A B L E !!!!
Add to that here in Portugal wages are really low, 530euros is what I earn .
Given the fact RAM prices are skyrocketing this puts an end for on my threadripper system.
Even a Ryzen 7 system is painfully expensive.
Sadly I like chess and checkers engines, I even created a strong checkers engine ( https://sites.google.com/view/deep-profound ), and this software uses many cores, but I guess it won't be soon I can get my hands on a Ryzen 7 system.

    CORE I7 7700K 349.90euros = 418usd
The 7700K is not a bad chip but the software I use needs a lot of "real" cores. I'll continue the waiting game (I've been playing this game for many years).

Intel is cheaper than AMD here.

oh my gosh for 750 you get 8 core cpu but wait it is 4 or you have to check NUMA or UMA or something for better gaming performance. Gaming mode on, but no it is again lagging behind , but wait it is soldered will overclock better, noo only 4 ghz, but, but you have to support it for the competition and so on blah, blah . AMD so hyping today that reminds me of a fish on fresh air, jumping and shaking around!,
This Threadripper (and Vega) is nothing more than a final breath of company lost focus many many years ago, the best thing that can happened to it (AMD) is someone to buy it and relief the pain of jumping on the surface!

Poor guy. With Ryzen and TR, AMD is actually giving huge concerns to Intel. :) And 1900X costs 550$, no matter how hard you are trying to emphasise that it costs 750$ in India. Nobody cares. For the gaming performance, the fastest Intel is about 10-13% faster than the Ryzen CPUs in FHD gaming. For what price? :) I understand you don't like AMD products, but don't be a tard.

sunnyp_343: What? The 7700K is between the 1700 and 1700X which is the correct pricing.

the cost my dear sir is nothing if product delivers, in this case it is only hype, buy this threadripper then if you are so so sure, but I think you're only barking in forums!

Hey no reason to insult people on a personal level. Even worse using that word to do it. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You just compared Intel 4 core processors to AMDs 8, 12, and 16 core processors, and claim intel is cheaper. Lol?

    i7 7700 is $303
    Ryzen 7 1700 is $329
    i7 770k is $339

According to the prices you, yourself, showed in your screenshot, the Ryzen 1700 is inbetween those two i7's as well.

So no, Intel is definitely not cheaper lol, you can't cherry pick AMDs highest end processors and compare them to Intels 4 core processors

If you're only going to show the i7 7700/k processors and try and claim as you do, then you can only compare them, price wise, to the r3/r5 AMD processors, as that's what they compete against.

If you want to compare the r7 and threadripper processors, then you'll want to compare them to Intels 8 core and up processors

    Yeah, definitely not cheaper.
    Are you drunk?

    64 pci-e lanes :YAY
    MB's is pci-e x16 - x8 -x16 - x8 : Epic fail

You can't even choose witch pci-e port that is x16. So 64 pci-e lanes is not so YAY...

PS: I have 1950x and Asrock x399 pro gaming.

For what reason would you need 4 GPUs @ 16 lanes? I'm a data cruncher, and yet I do not fill up all the PCIe slots on my board (total power consumption is already 760W with two GPUs, and I don't want to go over the 900W of my UPS). For gaming, using more than two GPUs is pointless (hell, even using two with SLI is becoming redundant) so you'd only need that many GPUs for computing purposes. What do you use your PC for which requires that many lanes?

I live in Portugal too, you can blame EU for those prices.
But really: if you earn 530€, you don't need a TR.

    Same shop:
    i7 7700k - 356.99€ 4c/8t
    R7 1700 - 337.99€ 8c/16t
    Prices are average too.

    Just build an AMD system.

Not defending the troll but going straight for personal insults kinda makes his point moot, no?

So stupid are the posts that drag "gaming" into threadripper discussions. People who buy threadripper do so for its superior multitasking and not getting the most frames in gaming.

Not saying that EU has no trade deals, but they kind of suck on top of that...

Notice the path to 2017 document. They probably had hard time keeping links up to date...

Looking at these high end processors and then complaining about pricing? That's like swinging by the local Ferrari dealer and then complaining to them that the prices are just too high. Well then why did you even stop in there and waste their time? The Threadrippers are for serious enthusiasts and workstations. Much like Intel's high tiered lineup has been priced and aimed towards.

People building a gaming system just need a regular Ryzen or i5/i7. You don't even get much (if any) gaming advantage by getting the higher tiered processors unless you plan on building a 3/4x GPU system. At that point, going cheap was never in the cards as you've gone build crazy where "budget" isn't in the vocabulary.

---As to the 1900X, most gamers should get the 1800X for far less money. Only reason to get this is for work.
