New iPhone with Screen Protector costs around $999

Do these people not know you can pick up a phone and screen protector from Tesco or Asda for £60, that can also send text's, call people with, surf the net, listen to your music, and use apps. lol

 

Apple is all about form over function, always has been, not that the iPhone doesn't function well it does and that's why I use one myself but ultimately I think people are paying for aesthetics more than anything, just sad that they charge so much for the pleasure, they are beautiful phones but $1000 for any phone in this day and age is a complete waste of money.

I like iphones for iOS but the headphone jack's removal turned me off. I am loath to buy phones with proprietary jacks after the headphones of my N73 stopped working. No way I spend $1000 on a phone without it lol. My 5s will be 4 years old this year, if Apple takes the 6s' chassis and upgrades the hardware, I'll get that.

 

This is waaay too expensive to my tastes.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but, are you sure your phone is unusable? What happened to it?

 

Nice to see Apple stealing from competition again.... This time they stole from Essential. The center iPhone model looks very much like Essential's phone.

 

Nothing new here, this has been going on since iPhone 4. They need to increase the price every year as that's the only way for them to make more money. Market share isn't going anywhere so need to take more from existing customers. Some day that house of cards will collapse big time though.

All smartphone prices increase year by year.

 

Don't forget that Apple apparently designed the first rectangle phone with rounded edges so all other phones look like the iPhone.
