I need to figure out a nice way for that. There's not real space and it looks cramped. Moving specs below the message looks pretty bad as well. Working on that. Yeah some things will take getting used too, but for new posts there's a dot before each thread and threads with new posts are listed in bold.
Thanks for the hard work Hilbert in giving us a fresh new forum. Will take getting used to but its for the greater good
Wonder if it would be possible to have them appear as a popup when hovering over the member name, similar to when you hover over a thread title?
Could the specs be put on the right side in a box taking up the space that's the same size as our name above the like quote and reply tags Name .... message .... specs
With multiple users in a thread, who's specs would you list there ? The forum doesn't know which user you are looking at
Extend the current section under the avatar? Or have a "Specs" dropdown link that opens on click? Spoiler
That is possible, but the font size would be so small that it's unreadable. I mean even you already increased the size of the image in your example.
Yea true it would be pretty small although the current Graphics card text that is there atm seems OK? The resizing of images is some amazing 'feature' of Coreldraw, even ticking the "Maintain size" option it exports it huge
New layout is definitely more contemporary than the old but takes a while to get used to. Also I keep clicking Home out of habit and getting redirected to Guru3D site Perhaps increase font size a bit. Also change the color for currently gray fonts with dark theme maybe, a bit hard to read.
Just go weeny, probably doesn't matter if something like this is small. Below can look good too though...
Gonna take some getting used to for sure.. so far im really not liking the thread pages showing only on mouse over. Maybe the combo of font size and that are making threads not distinct enough? I know i cant quite get which threads are new or active or whatever at a quick glance any more. Also just noticed, we've a likes showcase, ew.. everything's turning into reddit, gotta get dat popular post going!
I went black, now on blue. I guess I must be one of the few members here who prefers the blue. For me its a bit more readable (maybe at the expense of white glare, but so many sites are white, so used to that). Black text against white stands out more strongly. In the dark theme, not as easy to tell bolded text from regular, especially quoted text against the lighter grey background. Maybe just me nitpicking, as no forum is exactly 100% to everyone's preference. In the blue theme, love the cream color quote background. Looks like I'm sticking with it.
thanks for this behind the scene especially Hilbert...... clicking home takes to home not the forums.
Same, dark BG with pale text is actually harder to look at than white (preferably grey) BG with dark text, for me.
The only problem with this, and i'm not sure how it is on anything other then the dark skin, is it's very difficult to tell the difference between a forum post that is bold and not bold. I think if the unread/new posts were a different color, like orange or something, it'd be much easier. It's not a huge deal though, just makes things difficult lol Edit: Haha, didn't even notice the dot before the thread. I still think something like orange to signify "new" would be good. But again, not needed. However, can that dot be changed @Hilbert Hagedoorn ? I see there's a "new" icon next to the new posts in a thread (over to the right) could that replace the dot? That would make things extremely obvious. That "new" icon, if it's not clear what i'm talking about. If that appeared before each thread with that is new/new comments, instead of the dot, i'm not sure what could be more obvious, haha
