    Sure, that'll work too.

Maybe one of the users here on SLi'd Ti's can sell you one, but I think they'd rather not, lol!

I recommend it at 4k. I had 2 980s in sli for 2+ years and loved the performance on games i played that supported it. I only have 1 1080 ti since i play at 1440p. Once I upgrade to 4k, a second 1080 ti will follow

Totally with you on this. I regularly check sli performance benchmarks with latest drivers for sli GTX1070 and tbh, it's just not worth it.

When we look at performance in comparison to just getting a GTX1080ti, we see that when it's favourable, yeah, it looks great. However, things like minimum fps sometimes suffers, where as some games still perform better on a single card. This is especially true when we look at a whole range of games.

The only reason I see to go sli is for benchmarks or if you're driving the highest resolutions. The argument was much more compelling before the GTX1080ti was released and the best card was the Titan X. Now, if I needed the performance today, I would sell my GTX1070 and get a GTX1080ti. (Saving at least £100+ in the process).

Agreed. That's exactly what I did. Well I sold a old 970 too. Luckily I sold both of them for enough that the cost would have been the same as buying another 1070.

I don't know whether it's just me but shadowplay is absolutely borked in this drivers.

It pretends to be on and okay until you try to capture something, then it produces a few GB big empty file and turns off itself with no possibility to turn it back on unless you restart the PC.

With the new 385.12 BETA Nvidia drivers my frame rate in FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood jumped up by about 28%!!

    Hello
I am on the new 350.12 driver and I play PES2017 which for those who played it before should have a fixed 60fps. I have PG279Q and I want to find a way to disable gsync only for this game. Choosing its profile in nvidia control panel or using inspector messes up Gsync if I turn it off only for PES2017(it turns it off globally).
    Am I missing something?

Just tested it when I saw your post and by me its 100% the same as any driver ~17250 @ 4.6GHz or ~17500 @ 4.7GHz..

EDIT: it probably was SLI specific and now its fixed?.

Best is to have it enabled together with V-Sync set to On and forcing a frame rate limit slightly below max Hz so fps doesn't jump over.

want the truth? the real thing? Vsync ON or OFF (assuming you write about Nv control panel) has no difference, only ingame Vsync really affects things, like making Gsync useless and input lag increase.

Correct about limiter but irrelative with Gsync-Vsync. Think of it like this, assuming you have a 144hz monitor and your game may go beyond this but may drop to let's say 90 many times in your session, so ideally you have to limit to 90 so -ideally again- you won't see/feel any drops, having Gsync is the best and only necessity for your minimum imput lag experience..now..why to use Vsync on this case..?

Speaking out of my experience, that's why. (specifically about having Vsync ON)

Few times depends of the game you HAVE to use, otherwise please give me something to look at because ok, maybe I am wrong or just have different experience..
(for example do you have Battlefield 1? Try with Vsync ON - OFF with Gsync always ON ofc, use ingame or RTSS limiter, for me it's the same about limiter, same usage on cpu)

    I am on 382.05

You did beat me to it, was about to post link to the same thing.
But apart from that, I used to setup syncing that way shortly after I started to use G-Sync, since it felt smoother which even then was backed up by others stating the exact same thing.
Good to see that someone used time to dig deeper in to explain whats going on.

No, drivers and games are not optimized for 3 and 4 way SLI.

Maybe some glitches are fixed. But I know Nvidia does not take the time to optimize 3 and 4 way.

That is an is what it is approach.

    2-Way yes.

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/3071...fficially-supports-only-2-way-sli-setups.html

This was discussed back around and right after the launch of the GTX 1080.

They dropped OFFICIAL support man. You can still bridge them...but with your own bridges...no HB bridges.

AMD supports it, but driver optimizations are still not there. Either camp it's a gamble after 2-way unless you benchmark.

    Read the article. Really.

In either case, those who use and love SLI do so because they want to. Been dual GPU since 2012 and have yet to regret it, that being said the trend does seem to be moving away from SLI and CF. Case in point, Hell Blade, just released today, doesn't support it and it uses UE4 and DX11. I too game @ 4K but it does burn that yet another title is leaving one half of my $1,600 GPU setup unused.

The kicker is that the 384.94 driver was released at the end of July and is listed as the "Game Ready" driver for a few titles, Hell Blade being one of them but somehow lacks an SLI profile? (Side note, game looks fantastic and runs @ 4K max quality @ 60fps on one GTX 1080Ti)

Just to be extra clear, you mean:
G-sync (NVCPL) : Enabled for Fullscreen and Windowed
    V-sync (NVCPL) : Let 3D application decide
    V-sync (ingame) : Enabled
RTSS or equivalent : Enable framerate Limiter 2fps below monitor's refresh rate
Play all games in Borderless Windowed Fullscreen.

    I always disable (in-game) V-Sync or (in-game) frame rate limiter & enable V-Sync thru (NvCpl) + RTSS capped 55.949-0.007=59.949.
