Nope unfortunately, the problem was Crimson driver even with all the tweaks, went back to catalyst 14.6 + Win7 and the game is fine (more or less). I think that crimson drivers have compatibility issues with openGL.

Ah and........ ID TECH 5 is garbage.

^ ok, glad you got it going! Did you try older drivers with Win 10?

Though you need WDDM 2.1 compatible drivers for RS1 so going back would need a Windows downgrade too I suppose.

I have dual boot with two separate hard drives, one with windows 10 with latest drivers and the other with windows 7.
So i tried directly with windows 7. :)

Oh you have dual boot well yeah then just play in Win 7 and let Win 10 be.

Could be I played in Win 7 too. Or early build of Win 10 with Catalyst drivers. Upgraded to 980 Ti around a year ago and had completed TNO already I think.

I did some testing on dual boot, and I can confirm OP is right, more or less... because game is a bloody mess and it is very very nitpicky.
At my end ultra preset with vsync on win 10 is a total disaster, just like for OP, while on win 7 it is running much better. I've tested both 17.2.1 and 14.6 drivers.
Here is the catch: it is possible to run the game similarly to win 7 by using previously mentioned id5Tweaker, well at least for 60HZ with Vsync.

    http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/849-id5-tweaker/

Drop BOTH dinput8.dll and id5Tweaker.ini into the game's directory then unlock FPS to 120-140 in id5Tweaker.ini, yep even for 60HZ + Vsync. For unlocked fps without vsync:
Win 7 with 17.2.1 is the worst, while it is the best with 14.6 by pretty much.

Some pictures on win 10 + 17.2.1, 60Hz VSync ON:

Also tried Doom 3 BFG with Hi Def mod, Win 7 with 14.6 is definitely the best.

    win10 14.6

Jolly good, but pls AMD do NOT gimp your OGL drivers further!

the stuff i said 8 months ago is finally arriving as an accepted opinion.
sometimes it seems the own experience trumps everything else.

btw. those differences/issues are not limited to some OGL games only.

win10 has various compatibility problems still.
it's just nobody runs win 10 and win 7 in parallel on the same machine, with the same base configuration at the same time. so it's kinda hard to get a lot of numbers about it.

but yeah. if you dont play those four dx12-only games, there is a lot of reasons to use w7 only.
maybe... there is even no reason if you do play dx12-only games... soon enough... patience :nerd:

hmmmmm, i wonder if using the new order Ogl profile from 14.6 blb would improve things.

I can confirm, that this game is really bad optimized (or AMD drivers)
I have RX580 4GB and Intel core i5 7500. I have huge FPS drops and lags... (from 80FPS to 30)
But what is interesting, that GPU usage is always 16%! No meter what scene or FPS... That's probably why in some areas I have FPS drops.
I checked clock and they are always on max, CPU usage is low, RAM OK too, I have the game on SSD, tried some tweaks but no change :bang:

I finally was able to get it to playable state! I don't have 100% usage but at least I don't have lags.
The trick is simple: rename the exe to something not containing WolfNewOrder_x64. It looks like AMD has some bad profile for it.
Only problem is, that legal game on steam will give you error that there is no the x64 .exe.
This can be fixed by using fixed exe from Voksi ;) I also edited dinput8.dll to get it work also with id5tweaker. You can download both in one zip here :nerd:
    Enjoy!

P.S. I'm not able to make screenshot, I get always black screen :(

What do you do with the id5tweaker to make TNO smoother?

I let the predefined tweaks (just changed FOV to 120) + I added this:
jobs_numthreads 4 -> edit this with numbers of your CPU cores
    hands_fovscale 1.0
    r_postprocessdof 0
    r_skipadaptiveglare 1
    view_blur_max 0
    view_blur_min 0

This will help to turn of blurring. The game is then much cleaner and performance is better.
I don't like motion blur, DOF etc...
