My Novatech Nspire Black Edition laptop is loosing time. Just to confirm my fears, does it need a cmos battery replacement? I've checked for viruses and there is none. I've not long re installed Windows 7 Pro. Laptop must be about 5 years old now. Cheers.
Ok cheers. Also in the Win 7 performance assessment index it bsod as it's something to do with the display driver. Laptop has a GT 555M. Could my NVidia chip be on the way out? I get serious artifacts in games as well as BSOD. Something about "unable to reset display driver and recover from timeout failed." :bang:
Probably more than the laptop is worth, and they'd likely just replace the entire board rather than just the chip Done all the usual DDU etc first?
The answer is very expensive then... You would have to replace the whole mainboard which includes CPU
I've cleaned it out again, replaced tim on cpu and gpu. A little better I guess. But I took the plunge and ordered myself a new one from Cyberpower. A Tracer II 15 VR 300 Gaming Laptop with 16gb ram instead of the 8gb it had as standard. Thanks for all your help anyway.
