No, you're right. I've bought eight (or is it nine?) games in the last week for PC as well as Injustice 2 for my PS4 Pro. I like playing games and if I see something that interests me then I just buy it. Sorry.
Regarding Denuvo in this game, it's pretty well documented in this thread. I'm against anything that is anti-consumer, it isn't about the potential performance hit for me. I refuse to support anyone that assumes their customer base is filled with criminals. That's before you get into the reasoning behind the inclusion of Denuvo with this game, it was just an outright lie that insults the intelligence of everyone involved. A lot of people would have been considerably less annoyed if they'd just been up front from the get go instead of initially failing to inform people of Denuvo and following it up with PR bullshat. There's also the argument that it's a misdirection of funds, given that Denuvo isn't cheap and this game has a bunch of optimisation issues. Outside of this game there's a number of potential issues, EoL for the Denuvo platform is a good example. When you implement a system like this, you're essentially hiring your game out on a supposed lifetime basis. The thing is, if it's never removed and the validation servers go down, you're not going to be able to play the game you paid for unless someone bypasses the DRM or outright cracks the game.
That's an improvement at least, but you still need to set aside funds on the off chance your game doesn't get cracked.
I just see a quote from someone unknown. Where is the data? Both the publisher and Denuvo have made official statements saying the DRM is not responsible for the slowdowns.
You should probably re-read what I said and quoted. I was specifically addressing the part I've just bolded.
after the removal of Denuvo the loading time is shorter by at least 4 seconds Gsync smooths the fps a lot , without it's horrible
No wonder loading times are getting better without denuvo. Despite what developer said, game had some hitches and performance issues no doubt. Very interesting article. "Baldman," who claimed credit for the crack, said that Rime makes 300,000 calls to "triggers" during its initial launch and loading of saves. By comparison, games like Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, Nier, and Prey only make about 1000 calls each. " "Protection now calls about 10-30 triggers every second during actual gameplay, slowing [the] game down," Baldman explained. "In previous games like Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, Nier, [and] Prey there were only about 1-2 'triggers' called every several minutes during gameplay, so do the math" http://www.pcgamer.com/rimes-denuvo-protection-cracked-less-than-a-week-after-launch/ I also just wached DF Tekken 7 analysis and they are also surprised how long the game take even on PC/SSD it takes 15sec+ to load the match from champion select. Can it be the drm, again?
I have nothing to contribute to this thread, but KissSh0t.....thanks for the video! Holy hell its awesome on so many levels. Already shared it with my friends haha. Dont copy that floppy!
