Output dynamic range FULL not working with these?

Only just connected my HDMI TV and realised it's stuck on Limited range no matter what I choose

 

Works fine over hdmi here. However my colours look slightly washed out compared to 373.09 on desktop. Games+Potplayer/lav/madvr look fine.

 

Apparently they're blaming one another for the issue, but something related to MS's implementation of HDR (in the Creators Update) and Nvidia's own is causing problems.
Since that's tied to color space, it doesn't shock me that this driver is causing additional issues. Luckily I use RGB limited on my TV to begin with.

I ended up just going back to the last video driver until either MS or Nvidia release some sort of fix or toggle for desktop HDR. As of now if you disable it on the desktop it also disables it for games and everything else.

 

Same here, and I can't even choose between limited/full anymore, it's grayed out. Tried with three TVs, too, all of which support the full range and have worked fine with past versions of Windows/drivers.

 

Tried fixing it in registry? If you dl madvr it has a executable that does it for you madLevelsTweaker.exe.

Haven't tested it much more than a quick look, but after running this and rebooting, the TV desktop looks a similar colour range to my monitor now

Btw, this driver works fine on the current, non-Creators W10 version. I can choose between "full" and "limited" just fine.

 

I`m not getting the override color settings option, anyone else?

 

The Division is not smooth anymore after new 1.6 update & DX12. So far its happening with 376, 378 and now these 381

Fps drops 60-60-60-62-59-60-60-57-60-60...


DX11 is ok.

 

I'm having issues with Diablo 3 and this new driver + creators update.

Before the windows update, the driver was fine with Diablo 3, but now it stutters really bad.

I needed to revert back to 376.33 to get it working normally again.

Although I had no problems with 381.65 before the new windows update.
So it seems there is something wrong with this driver in combination with the new creators update.

Upgrade or clean install of 1703? No issues here after a clean install.

 

This setting in the control panel works fine with HDMI on my panasonic plasma :nerd:

If anyone is using a TV as a monitor, such as myself for example. Why would you want to choose FULL output dynamic range? I've always set it to limited on my last few TV's that I've used as a monitor.

FULL output dynamic range is used with monitors, not TV's. If I set my 4K HDR Sony X800D TV to FULL dynamic range, shadows turn gray instead of staying black, and highlights become dull.

EDIT:

However, having said that I could switch between them using the nVidia Control Panel before, but as stated above, with this driver, when I choose FULL, screen goes black, then the control panel automatically reverts back to limited.

As suggested above, you can use Madvr Tweaker if you want to force it to FULL dynamic range.

Monitor --> Full + RGB

TV --> Limited + RGB/YCbCr (depend)

 

My TV accepts a Full RGB input

You have to change the black level on the OLED to 'high' though.

 

Full is for monitor,limited is for tv
