Usually. But there are a lot of registry entries based on the GPU model and it's capabilities. I'd rather do a clean install (no DDU) with a new GPU than keep those registry entries around.

Driver was installed and is working fine as of now. I used DDU 17.0.5.2 because DDU 17.0.5.3 is causing an issue to my driver installation. Performance is almost the same as previous WHQL. Too bad the physX issue fix on 980Ti didn't made the cut, as ManuelG stated on nvidia forums.

Ladies and gents, FFS if there's issues with DDU, there's a DDU thread in this sub-section of the forum for nVidia users.

No problem whatsoever with you guys talking about them here, however, do make a post in the DDU thread so issues get fixed. Sorry to pick on you, but I've seen a few report issues in driver threads without reporting in the DDU thread or DDU Forums.

We can't expect these issues to get fixed if they're not reported.

Alright lets talk about driver performance not about DDU. Thanks.

The old "driver sweaper" is always the best for me.
Never had isssues during installs and every time always fresh new drivers.

First uninstall completely drivers from win 10 then reboot.
After that use driver swaeper and reboot.
Finally ready to install a new release obviously clicking clean mode in drivers set up.

Is that physix bug only related to the 980Ti or all Maxwell cards?

Known issue for all GM200 GPUs afaik. All release 378 drivers have that.

Nvidia is aware of the issue and hopefully the next release has a fix.

After using DDU i can not instal a driver manually but need a windows driver install and after that i can use newer drivers like this new one. I use DDU V17.0.1.0

GTX 1080 is GP104. Do you consider it mid-end trash as well?

Is there anything that uses OpenCL 2.0 that's worth trying?
