If you are saying that this driver improves the gameplay experience I apologise to nvidia for doubting their efforts.

I haven't installed the driver as the comments across the forum have proved negative overall. My current driver is rock solid, so I'm not crying for nothing - in fact - I'm not crying at all!!!
Prevention is better than cure, but thanks for your positive comments

It is not designed for games. Only for some compute apps.

maybe some of it was done for ps4, but you say consoles. Does ps4 even run vulkan though? Maybe elements of it are there I suppose. I know amd enabled some intrinsic extensions int heir drivers in the last year or two, and Im pretty sure doom devs have talked about using them accross platform.. is that what you mean?

I've had some interessting issue. Playing warhammer vermintide the game all of a sudden ran like in slow motion. This was kind of strange. I checked for gpu clocks und CPU clocks and they all were fine so no drop there. But the game kept running in absolut slowmotion. Changing from borderless window to fullscreen did fix this but it happened two times now since installing this driver. Also i need to mention that the fps did decrease during that phase at least not beyond 60fps but it normally sits above 100. So how could one have such an slowmotion effect with fps above 60? Strange things happen...

That article used the 368.xx drivers which were bugged for Vulkan. When the 372.xx drivers launched, the performance problems were fixed.

At 4K, you would be GPU bound obviously, but you still shouldn't see a performance loss by switching to Vulkan. This was with the 372.xx drivers:

But how is frametime? I know vulkan was higher before.

So anyone else experience cpu phsyx in Metro LL?

I cant try metro2033, some weird steam error when I run it

EDIT: Ok I got metro2033 working and it has the same issue cpu physx instead of gpu, with low 15fps drops..

    I'll go back to 376.09.

I haven't seen any tests for frametime, but theoretically it should be more stable and fluid than OpenGL.

OpenGL has horrible CPU optimization. The most CPU intensive area in the game is the Argent Tower. With OpenGL, I had framerate drops below 60 FPS in that area because the load on my CPU was so low (due to OpenGL's poor multithreading) that it actually dropped down to desktop speeds.

Vulkan totally fixed the problem though, as the threading is so much better. In that area, I went from a low of 48 FPS to nearly 130 FPS, an unbelievable jump! :eek3:

weird... even this result are different to me... if i run on ultra preset settings without nightmare options i have 100/110fps, 20/25fps more than on this test

and my card is not overclocked

where your card score 48fps? whats settings? nightmare on 4k?

Shaders are mostly the same on all platforms, GCN h/w have both intrinsics and async compute enabled in Vulkan while NV h/w has neither. This is something which only id can "fix" as of right now their Vulkan renderer is just not optimized for NV as thoroughly as for AMD.
