4K without HDMI 2.0 port? Well it's a monitor dispay and not TV but that seems like a miss, nice size though. :D
(Though I have no idea what the ideal size for 4K is or pixel density and all that really, bigger is better or so I've heard... :p )

EDIT: Also VGA? That's still in use?
(I guess analogue might still be around but I had not expected it to be used on newer displays.)

EDIT: Ah the full spec sheet (Or well, more detailed at least.) does point out I think a 2.0 HDMI port. :)
    (VA panel too?)

    =\ gross.

Also this poorly Photoshopped picture of a guy with this monitor... it doesn't make this monitor any good.

Philips. They are on the edge of progress.... though on the wrong one, obviously.

    I like this monitor.

40" 4K with good color space and its only £589 thats pretty cheap for such a big monitor with a decent specs tbh.

They make pretty good monitors for good prices!
And displayport only matters really for monitor use and 4k anyways.

Myself am waiting for the philips 349x7qb.. which will be about €800, compare that with the Samsung CF791 which has the same specs but €1100.

Seems Philips does not learn, still using HDMI 1.4 ports instead of 2.0 and what is even worse it actually have less ports then previous model.

    DP 1.4 + 2xHDMI 2.0a/2.1 with Freesync(2) and this could be 40" killer monitor.

Anything 16:9 curved is a waste.

    +1

My girlfriend's recent 21:9 monitor makes all my 16:9 stuff feel outdated, much liked 4:3 felt when 16:9 went mainstream.

    Almost

No Freesync, and only 60 Hz? I guess, for the money, that's too much to expect, though.

I see a potential usage for it, for example if I had one I would use a screen like this for my Hyper-V home lab, so i can have 4+ VM's of a somewhat decent resolution across it and not get any overlapping.

as for anything gaming related, definitely not a good choice.

Price and Size are on point for what you get. My problem with curved monitors is that for general productivity, if a document is in the center, "I" see a kind of crease where the curve is. Movies and games were fine, but I won't go curved unless it is for entertainment only.

How do you know your issue is not related to the degree of the curve and/or how badly its implemented?

I have a 29 inch 21:9 with 2 5:4 side monitors for PC info, discord, etc.
I know exactly what you mean.

Nope still is. As someone who has had 3x16:9 eyefinity, 3x21:9 25 inch eyefinity, and now 29 inch 21:9. 16:9, even curved for racing wether sim or arcade sucks. I have used way too many different aspect ratios and multi monitor setups for racing, I can tell you from first hand experience, 16:9 curved sucks unless using at least 3 24 inch 16:9 curved. A single one sucks.

What has one to do with the other?
Besides movies/games, almost all content is 16:9 and not 20:9.
And besides gaming/watching movies alone, a curved screen is useless anyway.

I like this monitor to, its pretty decent priced and 40inch is perfect for 4k, shame it only has 60 hz tho.

They have got a 400$ TV with ripped off TV functions (connections, smarttv, etc.) and called it monitor.

40" 4K. ok sounds good... curved?... well ok what refresh rate... only 60Hz hmm well it is freesync right... no... so not a gaming monitor... but it is HDR right?... no.

So it has none of the features someone would buy a 40" "4K" monitor for versus a TV, yeah this is a leftover curved non-HDR "4K" panel Philips is trying to clear out hoping people don't understand how limited it is versus other options out already or soon to be out.

I think a single 16:9 65" curved is pretty good with TrackIR, maybe not enjoyable for you but I and others do enjoy that, I do think 40" is to small though.
I currently have a 21:9 34" curved monitor + TrackIR5 and miss some height, plus that 21:9 isn't always optimal when watching movies/series.

Apart from that I would rather put my money into a curved 65" LG OLED or a Samsung TV than that Phillips monitor since their are no versions at 55-65" of my current monitor.
