Dell most of the time, because they never failed to deliver that aftersales services I need. Not turning to ASUS anytime. My first and last laptop from ASUS took almost 6 months just to repair, by ASUS engineers of course.
Just got an Eluktronics P670RS-G. This is a company that is using the Clevo base chassis (Sager, Xotic, are a couple others that do this as well). Quality build, no bloatware Win 10 install, an actual printed manual, Win 10 & driver discs, service manual available online. Got mine with i7-6700HQ, 16Gb ddr4, 512Gb M.2 SSD (has an open bay for another drive), GTX1070 8Gb, 17.3' IPS Gsync. Runs all my games at highest settings. Fans under load not too bad, quieter than the Dell i7559-2512 GTX960m based one this replaced. Sam
HP/Compaq Mobile Workstation - just changed the original HDD to SSD to gain some speed on its (just) Sata1 - clearly better now.
Do not like ASUS, acer better than the ASUS, but acer notebook with a lot of problems, really can not believe these technologie......Want to buy some durable laptop
I got HP Omen 17 with 7700hq, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 1070 8GB. This really rocks and is faster than my previous fullsize computer.
Last laptop I bought was the Asus K501, an i7 6500U, 8gb DDR4(Not sure what speed off the top of my head), 250gb ssd and a 500gb 7200 rpm drive, and a 960M and performance is pretty decent on it but I've had to RMA it 2 times now. If I get another gaming laptop, it'll be probably a Dell Gaming series or if the budget ever allowed for it a Razer.
I just picked up an MSI GL62VR-7RFX and man its a night day difference over that old Dell Precision m4600 that I had before. Here are the specs i7 7700HQ 16GB DDR4 2400 512GB SSD M.2 SATA non Nvme just Sata III. GTX 1060 6GB Plus it has an optical drive. Yeah I know I could have gotten one that did not have one but I wanted to have one just in case rather than using a USB one because you never know when you might need an optical drive. Granted its only a DVD burner rather than blu-ray but hey it's something.
Bruh. I am never buying an ASUS product again. I don't know...maybe i just have bad luck but my experiences with Asus have not been pleasant.
Looking after similar spec, would you say the GTX 1060 would run everything, mostly, at it well? In particular PUGB/Fortnite?
I picked up a MSI GP62MVR 7RFX CPU 2.8/3.5 turbo, i7 7700, 16 GB memory , GTX 1060/6gb memory. 256GB SSD OS + 1TB D drive. This one is a real kicker, love it, Hook it up HDMI to our 4K LG OLED 65", MSI is 4K compatible.
I just got Recon Wildlands downloaded in my MSI, all setting set to high, FPS steady at 60, looks FANTASTIC, no hiccups.
Very happy owner of a PowerSpec 1710 (aka Clevo PA70HS-G) from MicroCenter. It is still by far the price vs performance champ. i7 7700HQ, GTX1070 8GB, 16GB DDR4-2400, 17.3" FHD 75Hz GSync IPS (oc to 100Hz easily) 960 EVO 250GB NVMe 1TB 7200RPM HDD Price fluctuates between $1299 - $1499 (usually $1399) Open boxes available for $960-$1100, check your local store.
I just got a PowerSpec 1710 myself from my local Microcenter a few weeks back. Well I got a (open box) one for about $1300 with tax and the box inside was not open at all so it's pretty much a brand new machine for a discounted price. So far I am very happy with it but the fan is a bit noisy from time to time. Still, I rather have a 1070 card over a laptop with a 1060 just to future proof myself.
I usually buy my laptops from HIDevolution. I bought 4 laptops from them over the past 5 years and they've all worked perfectly out of the box. Their quality control and thermal paste upgrades are top notch and best of all, they offer a global warranty which covers shipping costs both ways, that is very important to me since I live in Dubai and the last thing I'd want if something goes wrong is to pay for shipping for a laptop to go all the way to the US.
