OK, for next gen is 500€ for the CPU and 1000€ for a 1080 Ti.
    I'll buy a PS4.

Or you wait a bit for Zen. If the $249 price for the ~3.2GHz 4c/8t part are real, then a lot of things will change.

This pricing, if real, gives me the feeling that Intel wants to squeeze one last out (pun intended) :D

That price is stupid. It's just a refresh of Skylake, why the need to jack up the price so much?

Lol, I agree, Intel basically made away with more greedy money while AMD had a quite a long lull in anything spectacular in awhile. At least AMD's Zen looks to grab enthusiast grade processing at extremely good pricing for the desktop gamer. Always appreciated AMD over Intel in this regard since Athalon XP days. In a way, I wish somehow they could just make a bunch more money to really push things in the direction thats fair to our genre of computing. They've showed their grit with what they have gotten with all of those console sales. Good for AMD.

It would be so nice if Zen performs/releases at decent price point. I'd start planning a new rig asap.

so the 6700k replacement is 100$ more then 6700k there raising prices? is intel that confident that AMD cant touch them? or are hoping people dont care and pay 100$ for 3% gain over last gen

Maybe they want to make as much money as possible before Zen?

And that increase is only in clock speeds, ipc barely. The chip is already at 4.5ghz, where is the fun overclocking it? I dont think it will go much higher than that. The day when we have pay 300Eur for a 4c/4t i5, this is patetic.

nVidia milking us.. but they do some progress..
When Intel milikng us, and don't give much in return.
They just do more like updating for new chipsets and standards.
In times when we need more performance - more raw cores, plus one core turbo.
How long they can serving us refreshes.

We also wait long years already till whole multitasking thing in games and programs work well.
    And ye currently work well.
So now actually they stop with more cores for mass :3eyes:

We just need wait till next year - what AMD show us.
So needed pattience, nothing else here.

you know I have to say that you guys did this to yourselves. intel may have had a better product at some point, I wont arue that. I'm sure the devide started around 2500k generation. intel is an evil corp. they sabotage amd with illegal tactics through bribing vendors to use there products instead. fundings are significant. I'm sure if amd had the money intel has you would see a better product from them. just sucks that amd was bad with there money for a long time.
    fanboy rant.

I hope amd's new proc's do well, NOT because I'm a fan. but because of the prices. to prove that intel IS overcharging. monopolizing. new product every six months an new socket all for 5% gains. there worse then the damn iPhone. heck they ARE the original "iPhone" gimmick.

Oh how great capitalism is.. Intel won't produce anything that rvials it's HEDT parts for lower prices until AMD brings it.. Zen might just be enough to make Intel drop prices a bit.. Remember though AMD wants to make bank too..

Perhaps if Governments would stop printing money to stave off inflation because interest rates can't go any lower, you'd likely see better prices. The fact of the matter is the socialists in Europe as well as the outgoing one here in the United States have spent the better part of the last two decades in a globalist redistribution scheme they like to call 'economic justice'. That combined with the brainwashing in schools (social justice), and the further crippling of industrialized nations (via Environmental Justice), they've effectively castrated the western world. The only fix is to unchain businesses, lower taxes, and remove burdeonsome regulations. A pro-growth environment is the only way out of these economic times. Yes, interest rates will rise as they should. But everyone would make more money and the horrible unemployment will come down.

The only problem with intel is it's customers, they choose to pay over the top prices, now it's fair enough for professional use where time is money But for gamers that want the best just to play games only have themselves to blame, there are cheaper CPU's that will work from AMD.

But when you want the best to brag about and pay silly money just for an CPU then it's your own fault for supporting outlandish price's.

HH done an review not long back about an wallet friendly 1080, now dont take this the wrong way, but over £600 just for an gfx card and thats supposed to be wallet friendly!

well im well out of touch then because everyone and i do mean everyone i know wouldn't call over £600 wallet friendly.

all i can say is there are more people with less than more spare cash.

tech is over rated and over hype IMHO but people still buy into it LOL

AMD have gone up in my books now i realise i dont even need my i7 4770 really, i could of built an gaming system much cheaper but opted to break my wallet at the time for the best i could afford.

end result for me, it's better than my old system but i wouldn't waste that much money again just to play games.

Quad core is not premium anymore, it's there with us for like 10 years, if something its regular mainstream product.

There is a marketing trick called perceived value. By increasing the price of the same thing, you can get people to feel like it's better than what it actually is. It's like Marketing 101. Let's wait for actual Zen benches and see the reason behind these prices.

Sorry who's the brainwashed one? Yeah let's deregulate companies! Laissez-faire, woohoo! Because companies will totally do the right thing by people, right? Screw taxes! Companies will provide every service I need, right?

Not that governments are much better, but they still are, at least in my country. Your neoliberalism is the biggest problem in the world right now, mate, not governments. They're the second biggest.

Untill some massive breakthrew happens where Mutli core/thread used properly ON EVERY piece software not some, not half ALL. I think my 6700k will die before I upgrade again STP is still king in this day which is sad. and I dont think even dx12 will changes this, cause it still require devs to program software to use it right and we still see more time then not there not willing to do that. and even STP is not enough to over come horrible programing in alot cases.

What good is 12c/24t if 80% of them sit there do nothing, and and have even worse STP then 4c/8t. yah its got better but not enough to warrant caring more about multithread over stp atlest not in my eyes.

Intel needs to get wake up call from AMD and its ZEN ( here is hoping) and actual start to deliever and not stupid prices, cause there no competition

I would love to finally have proper multicore support in the new Adobe "Garbage Collection" :D
