I can confirm 100% that the Linux open source driver doesn't have the bug.

 

Went back to 16.10.1 WHQL and no UVD bug (uninstalled 16.10.3 using DDU), no UVD bug and clocks go up-down freely. WOW! :/

Idle bug still present for me from 16.8.2 till now on ASUS Radeon 7870 V2 in Windows 7.

Bug is not hard to reproduce just opening site with lots of media for a few minutes and close. This is with Firefox/Waterfox. Clock stays at annoying 450/1200. And after putting pc to sleep mode clock stays at 1000/1200!! omg...

@AlleyVipe For me latest Chrome and MPC-HC runs fine and I really tested it, sorry.

Interesting, did you make sure Chrome had set clocks to 450/1200 without even media playing before launching MPC-HC? If this doesn't happen, the bug won't trigger.
But anyway, you still have another way to check it with some reliability.

Yes somethings are different in Windows 7.

 

Could be so, the other person I know that can trigger it the exact same way is also under W10 RS1 (AU), so as my other setup with a 7970.

 

Probably a known issue, but a new one for me...

If I enable "GPU scaling" in the "Display" section of Crimson 16.10.3 Control panel, it reduces the number of refresh rate options I have for 1920x1080 on my BenQ XL2730Z monitor.

I lose 100Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz. Just for 1080p in the higher standard resolutions.

If I disable GPU scaling and then re-open advanced display settings, I get back those high refresh rates and the 40-100/120/144 Freesync range.

 

Today I just enabled HDMI output to tv, after disabling clocks stayed at 400/1200...

AMD obviously want us (GCN 1.0 users) to upgrade and they are clearly free to try anything. But then again I'm able to learn.

 

Is there a profile for Call of duty in this driver?

I wonder if we get a driver for it..or maybe later for dishonored. :nerd:

 

Yeah these drivers have a Infinite Warfare profile though how good it is well I guess we'll soon know.
(And Dishonored 2 or well 16.10.2 actually as there's no new profiles in 16.10.3 at least in the file I can use.)
(Titanfall 2 and Watch_Dogs 2 were also added to the list of profiles.)

 

titanfall 2 is there but no matter what you do 2nd card stays idle.

I have infinite warfare eu version and cant unlock via vpn.
