shame its not going to follow the pattern of the books though,

I never read it/them but have now read the synopsis...not impressed. I really think the ending is such a cop out and reeks of the author not knowing how to end their own story.

Still, I liked The Stand, all 1,421 pages of it - but the ending was so bad...this has the same problem.

I think it is called Deus ex machina.

 

King just isn't capable of writing a good ending. You learn to accept it the more books you read from him.

 

Needful things. That had a decent ending. I do get your point though, it's more about the characters, the quality writing, the suspense. He's a good writer, don't get me wrong, but I guess I just tuned out after reading The Stand.
